Proof postive that global warming is a liberal myth

(aka Repug talking point for Yoni-parrots).

Case closed, as is Yoni's mind.

Umm... Yoni... a warmer atmosphere increases the lake effect.

I see. Then shouldn't it be snowing in June too?

Please read a little about what the lake effect is, so that you don't have to make such a laughably stupid post.

I'm sorry, laughably stupid global warming theories require laughably stupid posts.

The lake effect occurs in autumn and early winter because the Great Lakes are still warm from the summer. Warm water evaporates from the lakes into the atmosphere.

After an Arctic cold front blows through, the evaporating water freezes in the cold air and falls as snow.

So, in theory, if theories on global warming were correct, a hotter summer would result in higher surface temperatures on the Great Lakes, more evaporation, and higher snowfalls in autumn due to the lake effect.

So for you to present heavy snows along the Great Lakes in October as counter-evidence to global warming indicates only that you do not know what you are talking about.

I'm sorry, I'm really not interested in the lake effect.

So in other words, don't confuse you with facts, since you've already made up your mind.

I understand why you're such a loyal W fan.

So, in other words, recognize this as a fucking joke thread. I didn't even read the article.

But, we can have a serious global warming thread if you like -- for the umpteenth million time. go 40 pages and 800 posts and arrive at the same damn place we always do.

You first.

See, a post that just proves the point I'm making in another thread.

How the hell do you hate someone you don't even know? But, more importantly, what makes you think I care?

Isn't hate kind of a wasted emotion in an anonymous forum?

Why, because he tells the truth? He's right about the global warming discussion. It was very lengthy, with scientific articles supporting both sides - but I doubt it changed anyone's mind! Why go there again and again and again?

I didn't realize this was a joke thread. If I had, I would not have held you to rigorous standards of intellectual consistency.

Have you noticed in this thread that you have a toadie?

No worries, I'm not a big proponent of the smilies. I do wish they'd take them off the reply screen.

Using words such as rigorous, intellectual, standards, and consistency in the Spurstalk.com forum will only get you ridiculed.

Using words like "I would not have held you" might get you beat up in a bar.

Canada, Japan, Europe failing on Kyoto greenhouse gas targets - UN (http://www.forbes.com/finance/feeds/afx/2005/11/18/afx2345473.html)

Canada is among those countries most likely to run into difficulty implementing its commitments, as in 2003 the country had increased its emissions by 24.2 pct from the base 1990 level, far from its 2012 target of a 6 pct reduction.

Japan, meanwhile, recorded a 12.8 pct increase over the 13 years to 2003 and is headed for an increase of 12 pct by 2010 instead of the intended 6 pct reduction.

And although the 15-member European Union, which ratified the treaty en bloc in 1997, achieved a reduction of 1.4 pct in emissions from 1990 to 2003 -- it is still a long way from the 8 pct target in 2012 -- most of the 15 countries have seen emissions increasing.

Eleven have reported increases since 1990, with huge rises seen in Spain (41.7 pct), Portugal (36.7 pct), Greece (25.8 pct), Ireland (25.6 pct), Finland (21.5 pct) and Austria (16.5 pct).
Yeah, that Kyoto Accord is sure worth the price.

Yeah, well, people who become sychophants on here are as bad as people who hate on here.

I do try not feed that moose a muffin, if you know what I mean.
