...how about some vBookies that matter? who gives a shit about Baylor vs. t.u.? and i am not saying there should be vBookies for my schools teams (even though there should be as they have bigger games), but what about florida vs. auburn, ohio state vs. michigan state...etc?

Well, I give a shit about Baylor v. Texas, but couldn't really care less about Missouri v. Texas A&M.

I wonder why we don't have vBookies on games that people really care about; games like Columbia at Penn and Trinity at Centre.

...well, then there is the same logic with A&M vs. Mizzou, which is a MUCH better game. we all know t.u. is going to thrash baylor...so who cares.

I hope you watched at least a bit of the UT Baylor game. Baylor at least shows up.

Baylor, as usual, plays pretty well but makes mistakes to keep them out of it. They were literally five poor decisions, three really bad ones in ninety seconds, from being in the game, but they happened to be playing a team that was incredibly good at taking advantage of their mistakes. It's a good lesson for them.

I think Baylor this season is taking that critical first step from being a perennial doormat to mid pack competitive bowl contender. Until today, they've hung with everyone, including two top 25 teams. They've survived that and knocked off two teams in conference - with five to play and second place being totally up for grabs since Baylor hasn't played A&M yet. That's a pretty lofty goal with Tech, A&M and big bad (but wounded) OU still on the dance card, but it's certainly attainable with Tech having an off year, and their recent luck against the Aggies.

Being 3-4 overall after hanging 31 points on the defending national champs (and frankly, beating UT's ass for fifteen straight minutes after kickoff) the week after winning in Boulder is pretty damn impressive for a program that's used to winning less than that a season. They talkin' bowls in that weird Baptist town?

How about reading my note that said, SORRY I FORGOT ABOUT THIS TIL NOW or something to that effect. Meaning, I was just putting up one quick vBookie because I didn't have time.

Every other frickin' week I put up vBookies on a ton of games that are "meaningful" involving top 25 teams, rivalries, etc.

They have their flashes, but they still haven't learned to play an entire game, and they haven't learned to keep their focus. Frankly they should be at least 5-2, and they were their own worst enemy against TCU and Texas. The fact that I can say something like that and actually believe it is proof of that first step you mentioned. I hope they study the film from today's game and see what Texas does right so that they can learn from it.

They've always had talent, but now it's a struggle to shed the loser mentality that the last three or four coaches have pounded into them over the years. Hopefully Guy Morriss will be allowed to stay long enough to figure everything out.
