The Suns waived him today. The Spurs have had interest in him in the past. He'd be good insurance to Beno.

Why not?

Suns waive Howard Eisley
Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - The Phoenix Suns agreed to a contract buyout with guard Howard Eisley on Friday, then subsequently waived him.

"We are happy to have reached an agreement with Howard that satisfies the mutual interests of Howard's family and our team," said Suns president and general manager Bryan Colangelo. "We wish Howard the best with his next opportunity and thank him for his professionalism and his contributions to our club."

The 10-year NBA veteran owns career averages of 6.8 points, 1.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 680 games with six different teams (Minnesota, San Antonio, Utah, Dallas, New York, Phoenix).

Fairly reliable vet. Would not be opposed to signing him as the 3rd stringer.

All depends how highly the coaches rate Wilks I suppose.

Eisley >>>>>>> Ward

Eisley can still move, Eisley can nail jumpers still.

Howard Eisley would be great insurance.

I wouldnt be suprised if the Spurs signed him up.

This years' Charlie Ward.

Ward is actually playing quite well for the Rockets in pre season.

Ward is actually playing quite well for the Rockets in pre season.

He is?

He's averaging 4.5 points and 3.5 assists on 34.4% from the field and 26.3% from downtown. He also hasn't gotten to the line in 135 minutes of play. Looks like the same ol' Charles to me.

Duckspeak translation:

The Spurs won't sign him because they are cheap. The league will pay half of his salary this season, but the Spurs still won't want to pay the remaining half.

How's that?
