That doesn't mean squat for some middle class folk you know. I know the point you are trying to make but if you don't think people have lost jobs and are in a poor financial state you are sadly mistaken.

I've said it a million times, economics as it relates to politics is all perception. I hear Hannity and Rush proclaim how great the economy is (and it is for their tax bracket) but people perceive economics personally........How secure is my job? How much is my water bill this month? How much is gas at the pump and what is going to happen to it next month or after the election? Do I have too much credit card debt? Are my house payments going up because of an ARM?

That is what colors people's view of the economy. Politicians can take all the statistics and charts and figures they want but it doesn't make a whit of difference to the individual. Remember, most people don't pay as much attention to current events as a lot of us in here and only know and believe what is happening to them.

So it's time to suck it up and have a class system similar to Mexico, Sierra Leone and Thailand? No middle class, just the wealthy and the poor.

I think too many Americans don't want to be considered middle class or the middle class is changing to many. For some people who live on the north side in these homes that average over $100K are not middle class. People who still live in modest homes that were built 20 years or so ago and don't live in homes that are over 2,500 sq ft probably consider themselves more on the level of middle class?
