View Full Version : The Denver Broncos.......

now have the lead in the AFC West. Terrible offense or not, they are leading the division at 5-1. Defense has allowed two touchdowns this season, one being in "garbage" time against the 5-1 Patriots and the other was shortly after Plummer gave the ball away on the Denver 15..............ORANGE FUCKING CRUSH IS BACK BITCH.

The Broncos aren't winning shit with Jake Plummer in the game. I've never seen a Broncos offense with such little creativity. Shannahan has had to dumb down the playbook for a QB THAT HAS BEEN IN HIS SYSTEM FOR FOUR YEARS!!!!

There isn't a better defense in the league than the Broncos.

What I didn't understand about yesterday was that the Broncos haven't used the bootleg but about 3 times all season so far and then yesterday they come right out and use it 6 times in the opening quarter, what the hell was that? Honestly, it seems to me that the last two weeks would have been the ideal time to put Cutler in, you're playing shitty teams, your offense has done nothing, your defense is winning you games, put him in. He couldn't possibly do any worse then Plummer is now right?

Terrible offense is usually negated by great defense. 5-1 is pretty good.

Agreed, it's tough to complain too much when they are 5-1 but the thing that Broncos fans are worried about is the day in which the defense allows a team to go into double digits, when that happens, our offense is fucked because they can't even play with a lead, let alone when they are losing.

Opposing defenses have been using their fastest edge player to shadow the bootleg. The browns had noone that could contain it. If the broncos wanted to use Cutler they would have done it before the Raiders game. That would have given Jay the chance to play against two shitty teams in the Faiders and the Browns. Now there really is no shot of him playing this year, unless the team tanks the rest of the way. The Broncs have a tough schedule coming up (indy, pitt, sd, kc, sea), so that will tell us what kind of chances we have right there.

Too bad Jake still thinks he's the snake, and likes to try to force things to his receivers. He had 2 picks yesterday, and should have had at least 2 more. Thank god the Browns secondary has worst hands than I do.

My favorite one yesterday was when Plummer blindly threw it up to Walker down the far side of the field. The Browns CB just stood there waiting for the ball, fortunately, Walker is the most talented receiver the Broncos have had in years.

They will not be able to get past teams like colts or patriots cause they definatly going to put up at least 17-21 points which I really am not sure if the broncos can do. Looking forward to seeing cutler play in the coming years though!!I pray that we do not have not to see a game like the Ravens vs. Broncos in the playoffs, it would end up like 3-0 on like a 60 yd field goal to win it at the end or something!!

About the Broncos and Ravens in the playoffs. It's not gonna happen because the Ravens aren't gonna make the playoffs.

I'm thinking that the Broncos should get spotted one touchdown every game by the NFL because they have the handicap of playing with Plummer.

Agreed. However, it's not like that's a new concept or anything. I just don't see Shanahan's logic in leaving in a guy that is obviously not performing and is damn near sabotaging what could be another extremely successful season. I'll say it over and over again, he couldn't do any worse then Plummer. Fuck, Vince Young has damn near the same passer rating as Plummer.

Plus, the fans wouldn't be near as hard on Cutler for throwing picks as they are on a 11 year NFL veteran making rookie mistakes.

4 more words,
needs to start soon.

According to ESPN plummer has the next 2 games to prove himself or it's Cutler's turn. Right now the Broncos have the 2nd worst scoring offense but have the AFC's leading rusher, i wonder where the problem is.

also how about Elvis Dummervil, 2 games 5 sacks. finally the broncos have a DE who can rush the passer! :elephant

The Broncos have a great Running game, two very good receivers, a decent set of TEs, and a good oline. Jake Plummer is the gotdamn reason we aren't averaging 25 a game. Shanahan knows this, and has turned the offense into what is essence a preseason offense. Every time Jake drops back I expect the worst.

I blame this on Shanahan really. When he drafted Cutler he should have known that Jake would start trying to do too much to keep his job. It was a ticking time bomb from day one, and its been going off every game since. If the Broncos had merely a good (not the great one they do have) defense, the Broncos could be sitting at 2 - 4 right now.

I do think that if Shanny knew the defense was going to be this dominant, he would have put Cutler in from day one.

I think Shanahan has been using a conservative offense on purpose -- they've dumbed down their offense just enough to win and enough not to show their real game plan for down the stretch. Next week the Broncos will show the Colts a more open offense. I expect Jake to have a big game.

Great Post.

Why show the cards of what the offence has in store for the playoffs.
In the AFC lets look at what there is.

Indy all Offence no D.. we saw how that works out in the playoffs.
New England. Umm last I checked Denver went into NE and won pretty easy.
Cincy.. not a good defence and like Denver the Offence is not clicking
San Diego... Roids and injuries will hurt this team's D and a "rookie" Qb
Baltimore.. Good D but wait Denver beat them already.
Jax..Lost to Houston.. enough said they cannot stop Denvers running style

Denver has beat 2 of the top AFC teams already this season. With the offence running a preseason mode. Come Sunday when Denver beats Indy when they open up the play book. Then what will you say.

Tough loss. I blame it on a few things with the biggest one being Payton Manning is good. Second is that we put absolutely zero pressure on him throughout the game, I don't think they even touched him.........literally, I don't think they touched him once.

Oh well, the offense came alive, at least we can hope that this will have awoken the giant that is the Broncos running game.

Well I think the emergence of the running game had more to do with playing the 2nd worse(probably worst after this game) rund defense in the leauge than it did with them figuring it out. But who knows sometimes that is just the thing that it takes to get an offense on track.

No doubt, Peyton Manning turned Darrent Williams into his bitch. Champ Bailey had a few completions to his side, but none for more than 8 yards or so. Marvin Harrison wasn't invovled in the 2nd due to Champ. BUT Reggie Wayne had his way with Darrent.

I'm actually pretty pumped with the way the offense played yesterday. Katy was right on with her theory that the offense was holding pack the past few weeks against the Browns and the Raiders. Jake was on the move all day long. They even broke out the old toss play Terrell Davis used to take for 20 yards every time. It was nice.

The loss of Gerard Warren hurt. He's our #1 run stuffer, and Joseph Addai was able to find some success running up the middle. If the Broncs would have been able to turn the Colts into a more one dimensional team, things might have been different. Or maybe not.

Great game. Terrible ending. :smokin

• Once an unassailable lead has been achieved, teams may continue to run regular plays -- but if scoring a touchdown, players should kneel on all PAT tries. This is my Big Important Proposal. You're ahead 42-0 at the start of the fourth quarter. The starters are all seated, but you can't tell the subs to do nothing but run up the middle for an entire quarter. You let them run most of the playbook except deep passes, reverses and so on. They score a touchdown making it 48-0, and you kneel on the PAT try, even if there's a quarter remaining. Extra points are, after all, "extra" points. Once a huge lead is attained, "extra" points are totally unneeded. With an insurmountable lead you've got to run some kind of offense, but you don't have to try extra points. By kneeling on all extra-point plays after attaining a huge lead, the victor would communicate respect for its opponents and make clear that it is not trying to inflate the score, merely running its offense until the game ends. Also, this solution allows the second- and third-teams their chance to run the regular offense. Coaches of powerhouse college and high school teams: Start kneeling on those PATs in the second half.

But if teams do that, how on Earth with NorCal ever score????

Well I don't really call Plummer laying down on a INDY DL with his arms wrapped around him then the ball comes out to be a Turnover. To me it is bad officiating. If the play is not dead till he hits the ground. Then why do they stop running backs when the forward progress is stopped and they have not hit the ground??? ANd if a Def Player puts him on the ground it would be a 15 yard penalty.

To me that cost the game for the Broncos.

ANd on a side note. Why in the HELL do the COLTS never get called for HOLDING?

Then I decided I'd better start talking shit now, but the more I got to thinking about it, the less comfortable I am talking about this until after the game because I'm a little scared of San Diego.
