from your rims. Does anyone know of a really good remedy to remove brake fluid/dust from the rims. They aren't chrome rims. They are those alluminum wheels. I have scrubbed using soap and water and those wheel cleaners you can buy at auto part stores, but nothing seems to work. The wheels look bad. I hate it. Does anyone know of something that really works? Thanks in advance people.

Did you try WD-40? Maybe a Carb/Choke cleaner?

I use this purple stuff I get from Autozone .. cant remember the name (all I know is it says purple in big letters on the bottle) but it removes just about anything from any surface. Dont waste your time with tire/rim cleaners.... they all suck.

If you use this purple stuff make sure to rinse off the rim good, its some pretty strong stuff and if left alone might remove more then just brake dust (great for killing ants too.. gets them instantaniously).

to give you an idea how well it works, the truck I purchased is 2002, the previous owner had never cleaned the rims. Put this stuff on there and did 1 wipe with a towel and the stuff was off.

If you can get the name of that stuff with purple letters that would be awesome. I am going to try WD-40 when I get home. If it doesn't work, then I may go buy that stuff you are talking about or that Gunk.

I just buy new rims when the old ones get dirty.
