I don't know. The league is really angling towards the younger stars of Lebron and Wade. I would certainly make the bet if we could somehow decide if Duncan DESERVED the award. But that's impossible. 5.7:1 is pretty good though. Eh, what the heck, I would drop 25 bucks on it.

considering it's a popularity contest, given by journalists, i'd say lebron or wade will win it.

Good point. Since the MVP is often decided my market factors much more then playing ability, Tim does not seem nearly as marketable as the Lebron Nike Machine etc.

There's no way Tim wins it. He's already got his 2 MVPs, and that fact alone will dissuade voters.

Probably not. He'll have an improving Parker and healthy Ginobili (hopefully) to keep his scoring down, but I do think his rebounding numbers will improve with him playing more Center.

LeBron is the clear favorite because he is BY FAR the best player on his team. Even with a healthy Hughes, I think LeBron carries the Cavs to the playoffs and gets an MVP.

Unless the Spurs are racked with injury and Duncan has to carry the team all year, no way. Even then it's unlikely.

It wouldn't be a good bet if those odds were 20 to 1. The Spurs have too much talent around him and his stats won't be overly impressive. In fact, I'd be shocked if he averages over 22 points per game.

Lately Wood has been off in his side of the story.

Considering the year Shaq had his first season in Miami, Duncan would have to have a career year and miss almost no games in order to get some press from the voters. I'd take 6 to 1 odds that he has a MVP type season, but the guy that most deserves the award rarely wins it.
