Explain to whomever you have to do this for that the essays were so precise and nuanced that summarizing them would severely compromise the intended message of the original writer, and you don't want to feel responsible for twisting the words of such brilliant work.

:) I doubt that would work. I have a better chance telling her that I left my book on the floor, and the dogs tore it up...which they would if I did.
