View Full Version : Tomorrow I start my second part time job

I was asked back (yet again :) ) to work at Rolling Oaks Mall. This time I will be in my original role as a guest service rep for the holiday season.

I met with my boss today and I start tomorrow at 9:30.

I'm a little nervous about going back. I think that is just because I feel rusty when it comes to all the job procedures- nothing my refresher course tomorrow shouldn't fix.

A great benefit about this job is that my boss is both willing and accustomed to working around my Spurs schedule.
Another plus, my boss said if possible, she will keep me on permanently after the holiday season.
It felt so great today to be hired and not job hunting. I would love that streak to continue.

Anyway, just wanted to let you all know my good news.

Whenever any of you are in Rolling Oaks, I hope you stop by and say hello.
I'll be there from 10-3 in the information center. (center court near JC Penny. ) :)

Rolling Oaks shopping mall? Is that the one with the fabric roof over the food court area?

See picture on the right for small view of roof. Is it what you were thinking of?

Yeah, that's the one.

I got caught in that Mall during a hail storm, it sounded like the fabric wouldn't hold. That's why I remembered.

Well now that I know where you'll be all I need is a plane ticket :spin

I would come on down and visit you, but you know how it is nowadays. Like a thousand bucks. I don't have a thousand bucks.

You know, I was going to click on your profile to see what the cheapest flight to SA would be (I was hoping your profile would say where you lived), when I noticed your sig has "Detroit" spelled wrong.

And looking at the filename, you know about it and this was just something I missed for your entire time with the signature. :lol

Ok. I have $350 lying around here somewhere. But I am not flying down to Texas. I was there once visiting family as a kid, and it is too damn hot for me.

Just dont come in the summer. I have family in Michigan and they said I use to bring the heat with me when I visited. It got in the 90's in Flint in the summer. But I really like it up there. I want to go for the holidays.

It is because we sell gift cards and are different kinds as well as promotions with each.
Also there is a decent amount of beginning end of shift paperwork involved.

None of the tasks are super hard. They just have to be done a particular way.

I am glad you have found the second job for income- but you know I would like to see you in some college classes- even if only a couple per semester.

I would like for everyone to get a college education.

I can see how college classes would be helpful.
Right now I am, as you said, trying to get my income together. Maybe I can take a class or two starting this summer.
