I, for one, am still impressed by that 18-0 record the Spurs have against the Celtics under Tim Duncan. To go undefeated against any professional sports franchise for so long is pretty damn impressive. My guess is that the Spurs and Tim Duncan are not the butt end of many cracks in Beantown these days!

Any others?

The odd year thing is fine and dandy.

There's also that once a decade thing to consider.....1987......1997.....2007.

Can we win the draft lottery and win the NBA championship in the same season???

Well, the only teams that conceivably could would be LA, PNX, and ATL, since those are the only teams that have winning records against San Antonio.

I checked. I had figured Jim's answer was right, but it turns out that we were both wrong on that one -- LA is significantly under .500 against Boston all-time (115-149, .435).

Phoenix is under .500 against Boston (44-58, .431), Los Angeles Lakers (82-155, .416), Milwaukee (56-60, .482), New York (49-54, .475), and Washington (48-54, .470).

Atlanta is under .500 against Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Detroit, Lakers, Miami, Milwaukee, Orlando, Phoenix, Portland, Sacramento, Utah, and Washington.

To be fair, the Spurs franchise never had to deal with the dynasty Celtics of the 60's. The Spurs have just recently gotten over .500 against Boston (due to their recent run of success against the C's); had they been in the league in the 60's and playing against those Boston teams, I suspect the Spurs would be under .500 against Boston, too.

Boston, however, is under .500 against 2 other franchises: Milwaukee (81-86, .485), and New Orleans/Oklahoma City/Charlotte (32-33, .492 -- before last night's loss).

Spurs are poised to move into second place in all time winning PCT this season, supplanting the Celtics.

We are also the only team other than Celtics or Lakers 400+games over 500%...we're not quite where they are...but then again, we spotted them 30 years...the fact that we are the only other team 400 over shows just how successful this franchise has been...from Gervin, to Drob, to Duncan....

15. 93-98 Seattle SuperSonics 302 108 .737 0
16. 94-99 Utah Jazz 278 100 .735 0

Guy hasn't updated his site in a while but I am pretty sure we belong on that list...I show our record over the last 5 years to be 293 wins...which should put us right there between the Jazz and Sonics, but the PCT is probably not good enough...

Pretty sure if we can pull off another 63+ win season we'll be way up on that list and close to or over 300 wins in 5 years, not sure about the PCT but I know it's up there.

If the Spurs can duplicate last year's record they'll tie the Jazz for 10th place on that list.

Pop is 519-252 all-time (including tonight's win), plus he's 76-47 in the playoffs. This puts him 24th all time in terms of wins, according to NBA.com (http://www.nba.com/history/records/victories_coaches.html) I believe a 50 win season will put Pop in the top 20.

Ask and ye shall receive -- I've compiled this list, but I'll admit that there's one loss that I must have missed somewhere along the way. I checked the closest matchups to make sure it's not one of them -- I'm pretty sure it's not.
