I want to see what elson brings in the clutch in this game. but it looks like we may not get to see that today. at least we aren't getting blown out on these back to backs like last year.

Definite travel by Timmy.

They won't win it, but I'm glad they showed some fight in the 4th.

Sadly, I pin this one on Timmy... HIT YOUR FREAKING FTs PAL!

Well at least they didn't turn into the Heat on opening night.

Shitty offense throughout. Duncan was nice when drawing fouls, but you have to make them when your trying to come back and your defense is so-so. The offense just flat out sucked overall. Team wise, individual wise, FT wise.

Is he going to rip himself too? The substitution patterns and play calling at the offensive end left a lot to be desired tonight.

Mike Brown leaves Lebron in when he's hot, and he goes off in the first half. Manu gets hot, and it's time to sit him and hope he can warm up again later in the game :rolleyes

I don't know why he did that, we had Tony and Manu penetrating really well at the beginning, when we were attacking the basket. It took too long for Tim to get into a rhythm and by then it was too late. We had a scoring drought in the 2nd, 3rd quarter because Pop couldn't read his players right.

The stats on paper are deceptive. Duncan was so stinky in the first three quarters. Pop's coaching strategy was shit. Manu didn't choke, the plays for the last three minutes were bad.

If you watched the game FT's put us in a bad position very early on, we would have controlled the tempo if he had made 7 of them early on! The lead of clevelands was stagnant around five until the 4th quarter, and both teams were shitty. We were just even moreso, and couldn't get a rebound to save our lives.

but I don't know why Horry plays so many minutes but doesn't contribute anything...

Agreed, I'm not too sure I liked Horry playing so many minutes in the second half. He's been looking really slow out there. Problem is, Spurs couldn't stop Lebron James and their rebounding sucked big time.

However, once again, Spurs defense in the 4th was impressive. If they could have gotten earlier offensive contribution from the bench, Spurs could have won this game.

Only the second game of the season. Props to the Cavs, they actually looked good out there tonight. I thought all those experts picking Cavs to make it to the Finals were crazy, but they have a pretty good unit there, though their bench may not be that strong.

it looks like Rust. The whole squad looks like they're rusty, they collectively missed their freethrows tonight, with Timmy being their leader.

Hopefully they'll light that fire in the coming games....but yeah, very ugly effort by the Spurs tonight. So far, besides the Mavs game being pretty clumsy and tight, I haven't seen any Spurs light up with intensity to control the game. I'm looking forward to it, Timmy showed some signs in the 4th, hopefully that carries over.

Heh true, I'm only gonna bet on games I know they can win. But yeah, Eh one loss shouldn't make us make a big deal about it. It's only regular season. I jsut wanted to get a streak going...

I did not say it after the Dallas game because everyone was so excited, but neither Dallas nor San Antonio really impressed me and tonight showed why. I have seen a lot of teams playing better than people realize. The Spurs don't look to me like a team with a chip on its shoulder playing all out every night. I don't see the great defense that people claim but instead a lot of bad offense and not the kind caused by great defense.

So, while we are down you are gonna kick us? LOL. Gotta agree with you on tonite, but last nite was a great game. I fully expect the Mavs and the Spurs to be in the conf finals with a sane seeding method this year.

Tim has got to be able to hit his free throws. There's just no excuse for it anymore.

What does that mean anyway, the man is not a great FT shooter outside of one season he never has been. Timmy played very well tonight, Manu was nowhere in the 2nd half. Plus our bench sucked pretty much all game. Timmy is changing some things up with his FT, now working with Chip but you have to take 1 step back to take 2 forward when you do that. Timmy physically is moving very well out there and if he stays healthy he should have a big year. 1-1, we will beat Toronto and then a back to back against the Knicks should be no big deal they are a joke.

Unfortunately, we'll probably see that the rest of the year and probably in the coming years with the popularity Lebron has.

Tim really put the icing on LeBron's cake by stumbling backward a few steps and falling on the ground like he'd be been clubbed with a baseball bat.

The play is overated i mean Lebron is great but Tim just stood there with his arms straight up, he did not go all out to try and block that shot. Vince dunking on ZO last year was a true facial because ZO got up there and tried to block it.

Don't worry about it they will beat the Knicks on Mon on their back to back. 2 teams that are good but not great that people are overating right now are the Cavs and the Lakers.

haha that's true

it's just that i live in toronto and get all the raptor games and it feels like watching a JV girls team sometimes

Having said that, if there ever was a team to fuck up against a lottery team it's gonna be our Spurs :dizzy
