Eddie Van Halen's Son Is Van Halen's New Bassist
Posted By DSR on 11.03.06

TMZ.com reports that Van Halen has officially announced that 15-year-old Wolfgang Van Halen — the son of guitarist Eddie Van Halen and estranged wife Valerie Bertinelli, and nephew of drummer Alex Van Halen — is the new bassist for the band.

Wolfgang replaces longtime bassist Michael Anthony, who left the band earlier this year. Van Halen spokesperson Janie Liszewski tells TMZ.com that Wolfgang, known as "Wolfie," has already joined his dad and uncle for rehearsals in the studio. Wolfie played dates with his father during the band's 2004 tour, and the song "316" on 1991's "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge" was named for Wolfie's birth date that same year.

According to TMZ.com, the band is still without a lead singer, despite rumors that David Lee Roth might rejoin.

Van Halen should've quit when David Lee Roth left the first time.

Eddie is fucked in the head. Michael never "left" the band, he was left out for being too chummy for Sammy, and only Sammy's absolute insistance included him on the last tour, and he was NOT given an equal cut. He was brought in so late, he didn't even play bass on the three new VH tunes.

Van Halen is dead. Eddie saw to that.

you know Eddie has two new solo tracks right?

and yeah they are for an adult film too.

Im probably the biggest Van Halen fan on the board, and I have even given up on them.

sad.

Yeah, when I saw that EVH was soundtracking pornos, I figured that was about it for VH as a viable commercial band.

I'm a huge VH fan, too, but I refused to shell out my hard earned ducats for a tour of three new songs. From what Sammy says, EVH was wasted most of the time, and sometimes they didn't know what song he was playing. I saw every album tour of the Sammy era, and I'm glad I have those memories. I also BTd the Live Without a Net and RHRN live DVDs, and those are fun to watch occasionally. Eddie's unequaled when he's sober.

Eddie wasnt sober for either one of those tours, he was just younger!

oh and he has said he has found a cure for cancer, it is somewhere in mexico from some experimental doctor.

oh well.
