Probably moreso because the NY D sucks. Tony always gets a lot of assists vs the Knicks.

I wish you guys could see Dallas - Golden State. Troy Murphy is giving _irk a lesson in how to play basketball :lmaoFuck Nellie. Troy Murphy has gone from a double-double fantasy stud to having 1 rebound in his last six quarters.

Beating Dallas would be an acceptable consolation.

Yeah, but a lot of that has been the Knicks attacking the rim, while the Spurs have settled for jumpers. That's not to say that the calls haven't been a bit uneven; but the differential strikes me as right given the way the teams have played.

Why the hell would you trade Barry! He had like 19 points this game. He played awesome.

Would have preferred that the Spurs coast home tonight, but it's a much better win, I think, for having had to deal with a tight endgame situation and finding a way to execute.

And now they've won the second half of a back-to-back much, much earlier this year than they did last year.

Are you watching the game? The Knicks are the agressive, the Spurs fell in love with their jump shots. The refereeing has been accurate.

I'll have to disagree with you there. Malik got to hack to his little heart's content tonight, and I loved Nate Robinson's shove off somehow being against Parker.

Did anyone think TD look like he hated the world? He seemed to be losing his temper rather quickly tonight. Maybe just a bad mood, but he seemed to be showing uncharacteristic behavior.

Umm.. Barry had 19pts, Beno had 8, Bowen had 6 and Bonner had 5
Thats 38 pts, not bad for the bench.
Not to mention 9 rebounds and 5 steals. Pretty solid play from the bench .

Except Bowens not the bench, but whatever.

Um, I watched Malik get fifteen fistfuls of Tim's jersey with impunity while he and his teammates got called for every ticky tack piece of bullshit on the other end. I watched him get two bad calls/non calls followed by being T'ed up.

Wonder if that had anything to do with it. It's true that they got away from their inside game, but the refs were blind on that end of the floor for at least 10 game minutes.

Parker doesn't hate Marbury...he considered Marbury to be the best PG in the NBA when he first broke into the league.

And rightfully so...Mabury took him to school like no one else his first 2 or 3 years in the league.

Marbury's performances against the Spurs from that period are probably a big reason Isiah traded for him.

I meant he loves beating him because he hates that he's good. A competition thing. Not that he hates him personally or anything.

Yup. Malik got away with a couple of obvious fouls during that 14-2 run. Even Sean Elliot mentioned that the Spurs had to slack off on defense, because NY was getting every single call.

I agree. I think Tony remembers all those times Marbury used to kick his ass consistently when Tony was a rookie and his sophmore year. Marbury was one of the quicker guards who was able to stay with him. I think Tony likes the challenge of going against him.

Awesome game by Parker. And it was nice to see Barry pick up where he left off last night. He's been playing like a man on a mission. Not hesitating and taking that 3 point shot with confidence. Hopefully he can keep it up...and perhaps pass along some confidence to Finley and Horry while he's at it.

It's funny all you guys arguing with Shoogar about Silas...

How many of you saw Silas play?

There's two things you don't argue with Shoogar about...

What NBA players back in the day played like(except when he's homering for Bill Russell over Wilt the Stilt)...

And what Dinosaurs actually looked like ;)

I remember when I was living in France, I read an interview of TP ; he was playing for a french club, and wasn't considering playing in the NBA ; when asked what his dream is, he answered : " a one-on-one with Stephon Marbury before the 21st century" ; well he had to wait a few more years for that, but apparently, that's where his motivation comes from ; he is a big fan of Marbury..

Good point. The year Silas was first team All-ABA, his teammate, a guy named Garving or something like that, was only second team.
The 1-4 where the guard had the ball out front with the other four players spaced along the baseline and you NEEDED the points was invented for Si--not Gervin--and he was almost automatic with a 15ft jumper--and shot FTs at about 90%. That's why he was nicknamed Captain Late. He'd win the game for ya, guaranteed.

Not to mention that if he got doubled, he was a good passer with great decision making ability.

Gervin became the featured scorer with that play when Si was traded. Not knocking Gervin, cause he was something special too, but Si was a great point guard.

Let's see if Parker ever develops into the guy who gets the ball when the game is on the line with one shot.
