Atlanta and New Orleans are 7-1 betw them

Dallas and Phoenix and Phoenix are 1-6

I would have never guessed that these 4 teams would have switched records like this.

What is up in the NBA?

I did not think that SA would be chasing New Orleans this year, you?

It's only the first week? Everyone gets lucky? Slow starts? Maybe they really are better?

I don't think this will remain the case. I think things will have flopped again by February, and have more resemblance to last year, though Houston will be a surprise tough team if they can remain injury free.

Yeah I know, but it still looks strange. Dallas has been a fast starter and Atlanta a horrible starter(and finisher)the last few years, so this goes against the norm.

NOH also had a hot start last season, cose they caught alot of teams that had injured players etc....

NO isn't such a surprise. They were getting better last year and I expected them to make the playoffs this year. Atlanta I am completely surprised by. Also shocked by the Lakers fast start.

Dallas and Suns will catch up and be fine by midseason, I'm sure. It is only one week into the season so, it may be too early to be so surprised by how things are going...:lol

It is quite normal at trhe begining of a season.
I remember Mem one year and they had awesome 10 games or so and at the end had problems advancing to the playoffs.

The Hornets fell off the face of the earth the second half of last year, but they've got some talent.

The Spurs, in typical fashion will lethargically win with no intensity and no defense until either they have a couple of bad losses or the rodeo comes to town. At least Pop won't be afraid to pull out the soft speech this year.

What's really surprising is that Phoenix has two teams now.

Actually I'm surprised with Joe Johnson and Mehmet Okur. They've got pretty lucky wins over very good teams. I hope San Antonio doesn't lose to both

Well they are 1-8, so the odds were probably zero of being 1-9 right now :)

More importantly, what kind of odds can I get on betting that their records will be a combined 2-10 tomorrow?

I used to laugh when people referred to Ben Wallace as "the heart and soul of the Pistons", but watching the Pistons now, I can definitely say that Ben Wallace must have been the heart, because they don't have any.
