Suns are avergaing 107 PPG (while giving up 110!) and shooting FG 47% (same as Spurs).

The Spurs average 96 PPG, will they speedup to play PHX's game and score 110+ tonight?

Will Amare play enough minutes well enough to make any difference?

Can the .750 Spurs beat the sub-.300 Suns on the Spurs' court? http://spurstalk.com/forums/images/smilies/smilol.gif

Key points :

- It will be Spurs' 5th game in 7 days. Spurs need to be not too tired against a team that runs a lot.

- Keeping 2 bigs on the court, Elson should help Spurs to be able to do so.

- Stoping Barbosa : he is Suns' X factor.

- Manu vs. Bell. Manu has been average so far, let's see what he will do against a strong defender.

All great points, particularly the last one. Some of Manu's best performances have come against the Suns, and I expect he'll have one tonight that will remind the world why we keep him around.

Actually quite a few said they could start slow...getting a guy like amare back into the swing of things was always going to take time.

should be a good game

Do you guys remember how much the media was trying to make spurs fans scared prior to this series? Saying how if there was any upset to look out for, it was our series, and how the suns had given us such trouble all year, how marbury was the latest spurs killer (this was true) and how Parker was always owned by him and it made parker sad and then parker's offensive game suffered?

It was funny.

Spurs own the Suns. I guarantee a Spurs win.

Barry = easy 3's from terrible PHX defense
Manu = see above, + penetration
TD = not even Amare can guard him anymore
TP = no defense, wide open jumpers (watch last season)
Beno = same as Barry, hopefully

The ball should go to Duncan every time Stoudemire is on him. Stoudemire looks like he's chained to the floor - he doesn't have half the athleticism he did before. Even on the dunk he didn't have the explosive jump - his hand barely cleared the rim instead of his head being even with the rim. Duncan can score on him every time.

barry has got to keep being agressive.

Ginobili has got to let Pop know if hes got an injury. He looks slow, he looks worn out.

If hes 100%, then this team is screwed....

Manu and oberto can't play well both the same day
Manu sucks. In the last two games it's like he doesn't wanna attack anymore, cuz he's testing his jumpshot in the middle of the game?

Pop doesn't call many plays for him?

He still does the intangibles in the game, by turning a play in the favor of th spurs, but his offensive potency isn't being taken advantage of, it's like he and both Pop feel he's not needed for his exciting plays, anymore almost....

Oh well...

If you're still wondering if the old Manu is back, the answer is clearly no. The old Manu would have dunked that.
Manu hasn't dunked it in 2006 since he got past Yao that one time. Manu's dunk was what made him effective.

He's too much of a team player, he's relegated himself to roleplayer. :depressed

I agree he needs to drive in.
He's only shot two threes. Most of his shots were ugly mid range jumpers that fell short. But that was when all the Spurs were missing their jump shots/easy layups.

i think one Spurs player whose shots improved so much over the summer is Tony.

Like in the game against NY. Of the 11 shots Parker made, eight were from at least 17 feet. Included were a pair of rare three-pointers, including the one he stuck with 1:31 remaining to help turn back a late rally by the Knicks.
