#3 Louisville chokes against Rutgers.

#5 Auburn falls apart againt Georgia.

#6 Florida scrapes by South Carolina at home.

#8 Cal gets stunned by Arizona.

Teams are just asking to not be in the National Championship game.

Texas and USC, and even Notre Dame sitting much prettier right now.

USC v. Notre Dame becomes a very big game as well.

Yeah, but to be fair, McCoy's injury is a huge factor.

But, gotta give credit to K State. They are playing a helluva game.

How? If they beat OSU, and win the title game, where is the nightmare? Don't underestimate a team that ither teams averaging 1.3 yds per carry. Ohio State is beatable, very beatable.

I think the point was that if Michigan wins next Saturday at Columbus, it will be extremely difficult to justify keeping Ohio State out of the BCS Championship game (IMO), which creates the BCS "nightmare" of a rematch for the title. Frankly, I think that's a bunch of garbage. I think a rematch would be fantastic for college football -- particularly a rematch of two of the great programs and great rivals in college football. I'd think the familiarity would make for a good game and I'd think the rivalry would make the build-up just fantastic. So, in that sense, I completely disagree with the notion that a rematch would be a bad thing for college football or for the BCS.

Yeah, I never thought of that, but this is why they have the computer system. It is a nightmare, but it is going to be a nightmare no matter what happens, b/c who can decide what 1-loss team is the best remaining. Texas, L'ville, Cal and Auburn are all done. Florida looked horrible today, and was spared b/c of three missed kicks. Arkansas has kicked Auburn's and Tennesee's ass, but got trounced by USC, which lost ot a mediocre Oregon St., while Notre Dame got waxed by Michigan, and should they win out, which would eliminate USC, and if Michigan beats OSU, could set up a rematch between them, but that wouldn't be right if you ask me. There is still the SEC title game yet to go, a potential unbeaten in Rutgers, or a one-loss WVA. Unless the winner between Michigan and OSU wins the title, it will be a bitchfest clusterfuck once again.

Why doesn't a close game still warrant a BCS championship game for the Wolverines as well.

If Michigan loses a close game at OSU, is there really a better 1-loss team in America at that point?

A close game might warranta re-match, but if Ohio State loses at home, even if a close game, they might drop further down.

What I would love to see is Notre Dame go undefeated the rest of the way and Ohio State barely beat Michigan, and then I'd like to see the BCS justify Notre Dame going to the Championship game after its only loss would have been a blowout loss to Michigan at South Bend.

BCS doesn't want to do a rematch. And, they don't want two teams from the same conference. But, the rest of the teams have basically made it the likely scenerio right now. Even Florida has looked weak the last few weeks. Only USC can make an argument right now, but I think Notre Dame beats them.

I was afraid this would happen.

All year long #1 against #2. Whooohoo!! How 'bout that Big Ten!!

What a game this is going to be. The Buckeye defense must show up from the start and stop the Wolverines from scoring early. A classic game between the biggest rivalry in NCAA Football will leave the BCS standings in chaos no matter the outcome. They both deserve a shot at the title.

This is why I hate the BCS. U of M loses by a FG to the #1 team in the country in their house, yet other programs who've lost to average teams will get the NC shot. It makes no sense to me because the whole purpose of creating the BCS was to make sure the two best teams played in the NCG.

The only reason one loss teams are ranked above Rutgers is name recognition. If it was FSU/Miami/PSU with their record and schedule, there is no doubt that that team would be playing on January 8th.

To play for a National Championship should you at least be a conference Champion?

This isn't the NFL where there is a playoff system. IF the College Presidents want to say the regular season means something then you should have to win your Conference Championship to play in the National Championship.

And to say this was a close game Ohio State was up by 11 or more points most of the game?

Michigan lost to the Number 1 team and they should still be ranked #2, IMO.

After ND knocks off USC and since Michigan beat ND. Michigan deserves another shot at the title but I too think Ohio State controlled the game an even after 3 turnovers the Wolverines could not capitalize.

Rutgers is gone. Wisconsin at 11-1 is out of BCS contention since only 2 teams from any conference can be in the BCS.

Michigan played its best game and still was beaten easy by Ohio State. If Ohio State was to play Michigan again Ohio State would win by at least 15 points IMO.
Ohio State played a bad game and was never challenged by Michigan. Was it close on the scoreboard at the end of the game. but if you watched the game you knew Ohio State was going to win and if they wanted to score they would have.

If Texas would of finished with one lose would you want a rematch with Ohio State? Most people did not since they had already been given the chance to beat them and already lost. So why does Michigan get a pass?

Mich lost their chance to prove something big.
They don't deserve a rematch.

Besides, I need USC to go to the BCS title game to guarantee the Buckeyes cover their +600 odds to win the BCS title game. That should be a blowout win for the Bucks.

OSU might win, but they won't blow out USC. Nobody blows out USC.

...this is true. i don't recall USC ever being blown out of any game after 2000. i think their worst loss since 2001 was by 7 points, but i could be wrong.

IMO if, IF, USC does go they very well may be dbl digit dogs by kickoff.
That is how good OSU is this yr.

could be, and i have no problem being the underdog. that would be quite a change from the past years...almost refreshing.

...plus, i would take that bet and not think twice. no way ohio state beats USC by double digits.

To play for a National Championship should you at least be a conference Champion?

What about the year ('02?) that Nebraska got their asses kicked by Colorado and didn't even win their division, let alone the Big 12?

Nah, a 4pt win by UCLA does the trick just as a 40pt blowout would. :lol
