...#3 in the new BCS!!! all they have to do is win out and they are in for sure. Wins over Cal, this weekend, and Notre Dame will easily clinch the 2 spot once one of the top 2 teams lose this weekend.
its nice to control your own destiny.

USC plays Cal, ND, and UCLA. They are going to lose at least one of those games.

It'll be worth it when OSU beats them by 30.

...i am in Montana, yes. love it up here! the A&M loss was ridiculous, but at least USC spanked Oregon and is basically back into the title picture as long as they take care of their own business.
don't get internet and cable until Friday...small towns i suppose. but i go to some coffee shops and bars here and there with WiFi (like now). i was missed???
i love all this talk about how USC does not deserve it, they have one loss and beat the three ranked teams they have played HANDILY.

IF USC makes it the rest of the season without a defeat (which I think is highly UNlikely), they'll match-up against the winner of the tOSU/Michigan game, and, like you said, get pounded into reality. This team is better than the one last year which barely lost to the Vine Young-led Longhorns at home, while USC has dropped a notch or two. Plus, they'll be playing at a nuetral field this time - not USC's backyard. I figure if those two teams met today, USC would be lucky to score more than 10-15 points on either defense. Conversely, tOSU or Michigan would make mincemeat out of USC's defense (especially tOSU). Probably something like:
tOSU/Michigan 32
USC 14

As a Michigan fan, I really want Michigan and Ohio State to play for the Championship. In reality, that has about a 5% chance of happening, but I really want it.

I would REALLY love for ND to win out, beat USC, and NOT get into the Top 2. Not because I want ND to beat SC or anything, just to piss off little Charley, that big fat whiner.

USC's path is pretty clear. Win out. Even if Fla wins the SEC game, don't see them passing them. At this point, Cal, ND and UCLA are way more impressive a group than Western Carloina, Fla State and arK.

if USC makes it to the championship game, there's no way in hell they're gonna win.
that's if they even get past ND.
but then again ND is way overrated
but then again so is USC

I see that the USC hate is still pretty substantial around here.
Can't say I blame USC fans for milking this for all it's worth. Just a few short weeks ago, their haters (mostly UT fans) were here in full force to rub salt in the wound after their loss to Oregon St. Now the shoe is on the other foot. Aint payback a bitch? :lol

Payback?
Payback would be winning a BCS title, like the one UT won, IN CALI! :lol

In case you hadn't noticed, this IS a board habited by people mainly from central Texas, so it's no coincidence there would be more Texas backers than USC backers. Add to that the fact that some of the USC backers have stirred the embers here, so-to-speak, on more than one occasion, and I'd say there was some justification to the bantering.

Hate to break it to ya, but UT/Big 12 fans were stirring those embers long before USC fans ever started to retaliate. Were you around during USC's last Championship season? Didn't think so. The "OU is going to pound overrated USC" smack was everywhere. But now that USC fan is here to give a little smack of their own, UT fans are getting their panties in a wad. Speaking of which, where is mookie? I can't help but wonder if he'll start deleting my posts again. Some UT fans can dish it out, but sure as hell can't take it. :lol
Seriously though. I'm an Arizona Wildcat fan who couldn't care less. I think USC will lose at least one more game this year, and won't be playing for the Championship. I just think it's a little cute that UT fans have this hate affair with USC. The funniest part is how USC keeps proving them wrong most of the time.

I don't get that either. UT won the game. Personally, as a UT fan, I was happy with that outcome and could personally care less about the Trojans this year since UT won't be facing them. But...as a UT fan, I still hate them, right Brewski? :)

Again, this is a board dominated by fans of central Texas teams. If you want Pac-10 love, go somewhere else.

How do you know? I've been on this board for a long time - even back when it was hosted off the other web site, so don't start laying claims you obviously pull out your whazoo.

Nah. Not looking for "Pac-10 love." I just like giving the resident Longhorn smack talkers their comeuppance every now and then. Mostly because Longhorn fans are also Dallas Cowboys fans, (most of them anyway) and I can't stand anyone who roots for a Dallas team. Mavericks or Cowboys, it's all the same shit to me. You're rooting for a Dallas team no matter how you spin it. And if it's all the same to you, I think I'll continue to hang out here. Don't like it? Tough shit. "Go somewhere else" (How fuckin gay can you get?)
How do you know? I've been on this board for a long time

First, it proves I was a member here during the Rose Bowl, which you ever-so-eloquently decided not to mention.
Second, I was a member here when this was hosted off of WOAI's web site back in the early 2000's. I admit I didn't come here every single day to post ad nauseum, but I'd check in from time to time. For a long stretch, I noticed the link never worked. I then found out last year they must have moved to their own site here and signed on with a new ID as I couldn't recall the pwd I had used anyway. My original username was 'mhnsp', tho.
Now, any more sarcastic remarks you want me to debunk?

I guess someone has a tough time accepting Texans as their big brother. :lol
If Philly would...If Philly could win a Super Bowl more than once every other decade maybe the inferiority complex to all things Texas wouldn't be an issue? :lol

Well, I think we can agree on a few things.
For instance, do you claim a fav college football team or just jump on whomever is on or near the top of the rankings? C'mon man, all BS aside you know that is pretty chickencaca as well.
I'm a man with enough sack to claim the same team as my fav for over 30yrs.
UT.

If the BCS title game is going to be any good it will need a team other than Mich or USC in it. The Bucks will destroy both of those teams. Then again, the Bucks would destroy most teams.

I thought I took care of that with post #23 in this thread. It's not the first time I've mentioned who my favorite college team is. Arizona Wildcats. Yeah, the football team sucks right now, but the future looks promissing.
Just for the record though, I can see how all the USC hype can get on your nerves. USC fans have grown a tad too cocky IMO as well. Doesn't matter though. We both know that they won't be playing for the Championship this year. Let them have their moment in the sun. Lord knows they've earned it after all the UT Championship smack these past seveval months. :lol

USC has had their moment in the Sun more than anybody except Notre Dame. but we can rectify that this year with another National Championship.
