Big 12 Insider: Sittler's Rankings
By DAVE SITTLER World Sports Writer
11/14/2006

1. Texas (9-2, 6-1): Closer to being 7-4 and 4-3 than No. 11 national ranking indicates.

2. Oklahoma (8-2, 5-1): Are the Sooners the best two-loss team in the country?

3. Nebraska (8-3, 5-2): An OU-Nebraska Big 12 title game would stir some memories.

4. Kansas State (7-4, 4-3): Ron Prince vs. Bob Stoops for Big 12 coaching honor.

5. Texas A&M (8-3, 4-3): Aggies will be OU's new best friend for the next 12 days.

6. Oklahoma State (6-4, 3-3): So close to being 8-2 overall and 5-1 in Big 12 race.

7. Missouri (7-3, 3-3): Faces emotional Cyclones in Coach McCarney's final game.

8. Texas Tech (6-5, 3-4): Now it's Tech that's upset with officials after OU game.

9. Kansas (5-5, 2-4): Must split against rivals K-State and Missouri for bowl shot.

10. Baylor (4-7, 3-4): Bears not the same team that scared OU last season.

11. Colorado: (2-9, 2-5): Get the season over and hit the recruiting trail ASAP.

12. Iowa State (3-8, 0-7): Saturday's final game can't arrive soon enough for ISU.

4. Kansas State (7-4, 4-3): Ron Prince vs. Bob Stoops for Big 12 coaching honor.

I like Bob Stoops but my vote would be for Prince.

Gundy should also get consideration.

I agree, I think Prince hands down. If they beat KU (which they should) I think it is his.

darth visor will get votes because he is not only without his pre-season All B12 QB, but pre-season POY Peterman, and pre-season Defensiver POY Alexander, yet still only 2 losses.

I can't really disagree with anything said there, or the poll rankings. Nebraska will move up by the end of the season, but as of right now, it's just about right.

As far as Big XII Coaching Honors, you can vote in a poll at the Big XII website...

Looks like noodle-arm will take that one. For the record, I don't think Freeman should even be in the discussion. You could make the argument that he has been the best QB in the country over the past 2 weeks, but he has not done it all year long - which i think should be a prequisite for that award.
