The Bobcats are a really likeable team. I like Wallace, Morrison, Okafor, and Knight. I think they'll have to be my temporary team in the East.

lol Tim's even missing layups after the game is stopped. But he made 2 clutch FT's!!!!!

Aggie Hoopsfan

We're about to lose to the Bobcats and Tim's missing dunks and layups while Tony has become a walking turnover and shot misser. Manu and Finley are the only guys with their heads out of their asses tonight which is a shame because they've been playing so well lately.

And people wonder why I criticize Pop. When you've got guys who can't hit shit, go to someone else. Tony shouldn't be, in any way shape or form, running the offense right now.

Manu needs to play "point" for the rest of this game. Stick Parker in the corner.

MannyIsGod
11-15-2006, 10:31 PM
One point game, Bobcat ball.

They just need to score 2 buckets. If they score twice, they win this game.

Oh, and as disclaimer for all the French fucks who protect Tony no matter what - I'm not saying Tony is a scrub. I'm not saying bench him or trade him for Chris Whitney.

I'm saying he's playing like shit tonight, and the ball doesn't need to be in his hands.

:lol Spurs may just lose to the Bobcats tonight. Interesting thing would be that their two losses this season will both be home losses. Spurs seem to be playing better on the road than at home this season (so far).

Since when did such a young team get the benefit of so many calls? I mean, this is not LeBron or Dwayne - yet the refs are letting them get away with murder and giving them every benefit. :bang

Still, the Spurs are acting scared and they're playing like the Bobcats USED to play!

I know when the Spurs will lose whenever people mention how many consecutive wins against that team they have. Earlier they said they never lost to the Bobcats, now they might.

Same with the Cavs, they made a big deal of that, and we lost.

They were just slow and unreliable. Didn't the Pistons of last year lose to the Bobcats a few times? I'm not really concerned about it, 5 game win streak with that huge Houston win shows that the Spurs are ready this year.

As long as they continue to win on the road I'm happy. Anyone can win at home but winning on the road consecutively is what they have to do to win the title. There will be at LEAST 18 more losses this year and if you remember, the Spurs lost a lot of games against sub-500 teams last year, and the year before, and the year before.

It's the frickin Bobcats people. I'd rather get a quality, hard fought road win against a caliber team like the Rockets and lose to the Bobcats at home than win against the Bobcats and lose to the Rockets. (of course, it would have been sweet if we could win both, but this is the Spurs in a back to back afterall, it should almost be a given they may/probably will lose at least one of the games)

WTF. Embarrassing. I don't care how hard Charlotte played.

What was Finley doing in there for the OT? He never took a shot until 10 seconds were left in the game. Was he doing something else to earn his minutes?

aaronstampler
11-15-2006, 10:42 PM
This team is just old. We just can't expect them th shoot the ball well on the second night of a back to back, they just don't have the legs for it. They rebounded well because Charlotte doesn't have much size and Okafor was trying to block everything, but they didn't have the juice to finish their shots.

I think Pop should have played his bench guys a bit in overtime. You could tell the starters were flat out exhausted.

I think that's premature. James White is a borderline NBA player. Every year at the beginning of the year everyone thinks Bruce lost a step on D and can't shoot anymore, then it ends up that's not the case.

He sucked against Morrison though. It seemed like he hadn't watched any tape on him at all because he wasnt even close to playing him correctly. But even when Manu tried to guard Morrison, he was getting rubbed off on screens.

Oh well. Did the Bobcats give the Jazz their only loss? Seems like they step up for the hot team (or the hot/good teams really don't take them seriously).

Exactly. Barry should definitely be getting minutes. And now that our B2B record has been so bad over the past 2 years and continuing this year, what do we have to lose by limiting our old folks to 30 min and giving Bonner, Butler, Williams, etc. 10 minutes or so?

Not true, what about the rebounding? It was fantastic tonight, although most were open looks and self-grabbing boards, the reason they lost to Dallas was due to that.

Duncan was clutch when it mattered but turnovers and bricked three's are what lost it. Even when they play TERRIBLE defense they still almost pull off a win.

Nobody in here needs to freak out, this will mean nothing when they get on another win streak.

Just because someone says something negative right after a tough loss doesn't mean they're jumping ship.

It's not even that the Spurs played all that bad, but they just missed a lot of open 3's. I mean hitting 3 more of those and this game isn't an issue.

They missed a crazy amount of layups too. It was just a bad night.

He shot a 3 because the play was designed to get a 3. He made a good cross court pass to Tony, Tony got it back to him, and he just happened to miss. Get rid of the Manu hate. He did what the Spurs wanted him to do, it just didn't go down.

Yep...we would not have been in this game if not for Manu.

Spurs deserved to lose if they play this way. They didn't try until like two minutes to go in the game. If they would have pulled this win out, it would have meant more losses down the road because they'd go into coast mode in the first quarter.

Pretty much the whole team played horrible. Duncan was passive, Bowen got lit up by a rookie and Parker was playing bad both sides of the court. Only positive to take out of it was Finley's play.

Bowen attempting to box out Okafor was a fitting end to the night. Dumb move to have the team's worst rebounder trying to box out one of the best rebounders in the league. I'm glad he got the rebound and dunked it on the Spurs face. Maybe next time Pop will put two bigmen on the court in a situation where they will be calling a timeout after a make or a miss.

The Spurs got outplayed, outcoached and outefforted.

And I'm glad they lost it. Should be a good wakeup call and a game Pop can point to when he wants to motivate the team when they have an easy game on the schedule.

All those short shots were due to fatigue. We're old. It IS our fault. It's a team weakness. We got to get our bench some minutes and B2B's are the perfect time to do it since we almost always lose anyway.

They should be motivated to play every game. They aren't anywhere near elite on offense, and they should be. Their defense hasn't even been up to par. I would much rather have the win than a loss. If they can't be motivated every game then they won't win a title. I don't beleive in statement losses. The Spurs should be playing much better offense then they have so far this season. No reason to be this sluggish, back to back or not.

That back 2 back shit is just that. It's in their heads. They go way too deep in the rotation to be that fucking fatiqued the next night, and we continue to enable them with the excuse.

Spurs have statement losses every year. And as the year goes on, those games are rallying cries to keep the team motivated. No team goes through 82 games without a hiccup.

Yeah the back to back shit is getting old but they lost this game because they didn't take the Cats seriously. Even before the game, Bill Shoening was talking about how they could not be taken lightly and they were better than their record indicated. So what did they Spurs do? Assumed they would win the game easily. Recipe for disaster.

This is true. I just wish they would start shaping up on offense. They have three elite offensive players if they are on their games. Meaning as a 1-2-3 combo they should be elite offensively, but they aren't. Duncan isn't himself, and neither is Manu. Aside from the turnovers Parker has been awesome. Why can't this be the year the Spurs become a top 5 offensive team? Is the rest of the supporting cast just that lacking in that department? Or does the team use up too much energy on D? I just don't see why they can't be a top 5 offensive in team in terms of Points Per Possesion + Offensive Rating.

This was THE Back to Back to Win!!!

It would have been the perfect Statement.

Most of the comments and observation tonight have been perfect and Right On!

It's a pity the team and (behind the team TEAM) are not in on this conversation! Do you think it could do some good to have other "outside fan constructive criticism"!? They need to start listen to Somebody!

I think they will be ready after the ass reaming that Pop is giving them right now. And other than their opening night clobbering of the Heat, the Bulls haven't looked all that great this season.

tp this year 1.9 turnovers per game
last year 3.1
I think tp is improving

I think the Spurs old nemesis, their lack of killer instinct, did them in tonite. After taking the Bobcats lightly for most of the game, the Spurs rallied at the end of regular time and could have won it with batter ball-handling and shooting. Then, when they had momentum going into the overtime, they were too passive and did not crush the Bobcats.

I mean Okafur has become a legit player in the NBA and Morrison looks like he is going to be good but the Spurs should have overwhelmed them with their depth tonight.

Spurs need to start playing better at home they have been dominant at home last 2 years and this year so far have been very bad. They are playing up and down to the competition to much right now. They should have blew out the knicks twice instead they were somewhat close and there is no excuse for tonight.

I asked that question w/ the attempt at making a somewhat dark humor joke and wait for posters to call me all sorts of ungodly names thus transferring their energy and anger towards me instead of them having to dwell on a loss. Thanks for ruining my attempt to help ease the pain of a loss for my fellow Spurs fans. I WILL NOT BE DANCING AT YOUR WEDDING.... I will sing though :drunk

God damn, you're fucking retarded. You lost to the Spurs, Golden State, etc, and you're team is 3-4 while we're 6-1 and you're talking smack? You're an idiot. So by your logic, if the Bobcats beat the Spurs and the Spurs beat the Mavs, then Bobcats > Mavs? Idiot.

Just let that anger out. It is frusterating knowing youll lose to the Bulls Friday then lose to my boys next Friday.By next Friday the Mavs will have about the same record as the Spurs. Also......

:blah :blah Why cant the Spurs beat the Mavs by double digits huh? Until the Spurs prove they can at least have 1 game where they kick our asses I will then start to take them seriously. You need late game Mav fuckups to beat them while the case is different for us and we proved that. Beat us in a non-close game then start yapping about proving something!

But if you need late game fuckups from the Mavs that doesnt say much for the Spurs. In the last 12 meetings (excluding game 5) we literally outplayed the spurs most of the game and they needed us to make mental mistakes to win the game. There was 3 games last year we were up by 20+ yet the biggest lead the Spurs could barley luster was 12 points. You have to prove you can beat us convincingly at least 1 time before any statement is made against these mavs.

Thank you!

But, I'm happy the Spurs are better on the road this year. Last year they would have dropped that Houston game. Better to have them as a great road team. Remember how great they were in close situations on the road in 03? That's what they need to be to win the title.
