What kind do you have?

What do you like/dislike about it?

Is 12x zoom good enough on an advanced point & shoot 6MP dig cam for a sporting event or would you get an SLR with a huge ol' freakin' zoom lens?

Which one would you get next? Be realistic though.

We have the Kodak Easy Share and I really like it, but I don't do anything advanced with it, like sporting events or weddings or whatever. I just use it for family pics. I like it because it's really easy to use and takes really good high-resolution pics.

I took my old (apprx4yrs old) Kodak Easy Share to a Spurs game in Oct & I couldn't adjust the speed, light, etc...

Shots came out too blurry, drak, etc....

I think Kodak Easyshares are pretty good if you aren't gonna use it for anything too fancy. I have an Easyshare and it's good for what I use it for. I agree I used it for the Spurs game and the pictures didn't come out all that great...but it's not a fancy type camera anyway.

Hmmm...

A540 is $176 at Amazon.

(Thanks for making me go to Amazon to check it out, I remembered that I need to cancel my Amazon Prime trial before it gets tacked on.)

I might go with the Canon PowerShot S3 or the Sony Cybershot H/5B.
Get at least a 1GB high speed card & I should be set for at least a few yrs.

Gotta 10% off coupon from CircCity & their prices are dropping to match Best Buy/Walmart/Target.

I recently purchased a Sony Cybershot DSC-H2. I love it.

The only negative that I can think of is that it's a little bulky.

Just got this a couple of months ago and I love it. Nice and slim, and the touchscreen is absolutely sweet.

Don't you get all kinds of fingerprints on the screen that way? That does seem way cooler than buttons though.

I just picked up a Sony Cybershot 7.2 mp with 1gb for 235 from Costco. Got the gb for 25 bucks. Sweet ass phone and compact as well. It has a telephoto lens attachment for 99 bucks that is fucking awesome. I love this camera. Oh yeah, its also got a case you can buy that allows you to take pictures underwater.

Yeah, that sounds like a great deal.

I just always have this worry about going with Sony and proprietary media. This might break me of it, though.

The thing that I don't like about Sony is their memory cards. I mean at least with a SD a few more cameras are able to put those in but with a MS you are stuck with having to put it in a Sony.

That way in an emergency if my batteries run out and someone else has a camera I can just put my memory card in their camera. I guess that's why I like SD cards more than MS.

I've only had it for about a week now and I'm finally learning the ins and outs of it. This thing fucking kicks ass. Can't wait to get my hands on the lens attachment.

If you use your finger it gets marked up after a while, but it comes with this pick that hooks onto the lanyard that you can use to avoid marking up the screen, I use the pick.
