The Spurs will be the 2007 NBA Champs.
Every other team looks like hypocrites. Good one night terrible the next. Utah is just riding a high and I only respect 3 teams and don't see them standing a chance. I am convinced we will see Cleveland in the Finals and Dallas in the WCF's.
Our team is just mean. Duncan seems to be back for the most part. And Parker has really stepped it up this year, like he has every year. Bowen is our only drop off and with Oberto being solid and Elson playing better than Nazr and Rasho I can't help but to be convinced. While we ween Butler and White and hopefully have them some time around AS Weekend, things should be even better then. Manu is still being here one day and lost the next, but we know who he is in the playoffs. Bonner is really earning PT and makes us so deadly leaving Duncan in the paint... alone when a PF can drop skittles from the rainbow.
We shouldn't worry about some OT loss to the Pussycats. Chitappens.
I am more confident in this team for a title than ever before. And that's saying a lot for me because I am pretty skeptical about our guys and generally Spurs fans always are because of our expectations.
Flame me. go ahead. But we will bring the title and raise another banner this year.

Most of us are hoping the Spurs win the championship in seven months. Chill out and just watch the games. Saying that the strongest team in the league right now is going to win the championship isn't exactly going out on a limb, either.

Until the Spurs can blow out the Mavs, they arent beating the Mavs in a series. Last year showed how the Spurs needed last second fuckup from the Mavs to pull a win out of their ass. We lead the Spurs by over 20+ in 3 meetings last year and controlled most of the games. Inexperience was an issue for us last year vs the Spurs. We would of swept or won the series in 5 easily if it werent for that! In other words prove something to the Mavs other then squeaking out wins then I will take the Spurs seriously this year.

well, where to start. There's so many ways to retort here. I'll just list them.
1. What is this "we" and "us" stuff? Unless you are actually part of the Mavs organization, using words like that simply shows you are identifying yourself with the Mavs for no rational reason. You are a crazed fan and cannot really have a reasonable discussion.
2. So, you're pulling out last year's regular season games to justify that the Mavs are way ahead of the Spurs and you don't even take the Spurs seriously? Did you happen to note the playoff series that went 7 games and could have gone either way, easily? And did you realize that no one cares about the regular season once it's over, it's really all about the playoffs?
3. Yes, the Mavs beat the Spurs in a classic 7-game series. That's one win, compared to all the other times when the Spurs beat the Mavs. Perhaps they should get more than one under their belt before you start declaring them kings of the world? Does it bother you that no objective observer agrees with you? And the vast majority of the NBA GMs picked the Spurs to win it all this year?
4. Maybe try some English next time? "Would of" should be "Would have", "werent" should be "weren't".

Please try defending why you fuckers cant even blow us out while we can. If the best you have to offer is grammer suggestions and what GMs think then it shows you indirectly agree with me. Doesnt it concern you that you need last second mav fuckups to get wins over them while we can beat you in close games and in blowouts? I am sure that bothers the fuck out of you. I just don't get where you are coming from. You seem to be disconnected from reality.
Last regular season, the Spurs and Mavs were 2-2 against each other. Last playoffs, they had to go to overtime in game 7. How much closer could it be? No one "blew out" anyone.
If you are looking for a "quality of win" type thing, trying to say winning by a larger margin counts more, I don't think anyone cares about that.
In fact, I have heard players say many times they'd rather lose big than on a last-second mistake, because you can forget a big loss easier than a "coulda-shoulda" type game.

maybe you and your douche-bag team should try winning a championship and not choking in epic fashion before you start talking. then people might take you seriously when you call next. the finals completely negates any scoreboard the mavericks might have had on the spurs.

A win is a win, a blowout doesn't effect the w/l charts any more than a one point game. Mavs pulled the biggest choke in Finals history and you have no right to go on here and proclaim we have to blow out the Mavs before the Spurs can be contenders.
So far in this league, the only really impressive teams have been Utah, Cleveland, Orlando, Golden State (who expected Baron Davis to play this good?), and San Antonio. New Orleans maybe, but I expected they'd be good. This could and probably will all change, but just my opinion.

Last year showed how the Spurs needed last second fuckup from the Mavs to pull a win out of their ass.
There was also a last second fuckup by Ginobili that saved Game 7 for your team. Had Ginobili not fouled you, Dirk, your team could have been remembered for a blowing a 3-1 series lead in the conference semis rather than 2-0 (nearly 3-0) lead in the Finals.
You brag about 20 point leads in multiple games but most of these ended up with close scores. Your team built a big lead against the Spurs and allowed the series to go to Game 7 OT. Your team built a big series lead against the Heat and then dropped 4 in a row. Dirk, it's not that I question your resolve, I just think you're a big p*ssy.

Boring. Same-old rehashed bullshit. None of this is even relevant until after the All-Star break. Give the talk about rings and slow starts and last year's stats a rest until things start to take shape.
But I did like the guy getting called out for using "we" when talking about his team. Only a pussy would try to call someone out for that. Everyone talks about their team like that. Get over it.

assuming you meant "I did NOT like the guy getting called out..."
It's really a choice. Do you want to identify yourself as part of the team, or do you want to view the team as something separate from you which you can appreciate and enjoy? If you say "we" it means, in my view, that you are essentially pretending that you are part of the team's extended family, and that the team deserves your loyalty and support, almost no matter what happens. It leads to lack of objectivity and inability to see things as they are. On the other hand, it deepens the emotional experience and the feeling of belonging.
This is manifested in posts like the original one that started this sub-thread. The guy is clearly rationalizing his contention that the Mavs are greatly superior, without any real information to back that up. It's like when someone is arrested for a violent crime and his mother defends him, saying, "He's a good boy, he's innocent, I know he wouldn't do something like that."

I would strongly recommend we lower our expectations a little. Oh, we'll win it all okay, but we'll still lose at least 20 games before April comes around. You won't have so far to fall when each of these losses occurs. The difference between the posts today versus after the Bobcat loss is humongous.

Lucky nothing - calling the Cavs of all things is what impresses me. At the time - Mavs didnt look great at all (not like they did going into the playoffs). I would have been wary of saying we would beat the Mavs in the playoffs. Of course - going into the playoffs nobody thought they would lose in the first round either.
