That the Spurs own the longest current opening day winning streak? 9 yrs and counting, tonight will be 10. It seems odd, because the Spurs are notoriuosly slow starters every year, but they always seem to win game 1 for some reason.

1st game of the season...the most insignificant game of the season.

Every game counts equally. Winning the first game of the season is as significant as winning the last.

For sure in this division every game count. Especially when you know Houston and dallas are going to get better as Tmac and Yao play each other and PG rookie of dallas will clearly improve.

We found out last year how important just 1 game is, huh? Minn had the alakers in WCFs, we got them in SFs, had we won another game, it would have been reversed....noooo, it makes no difference if we win the 1st game. :rolleyes

It is now 10 yrs and counting.

I think there will be a protest in the NBA next offseason by any team that has to open against the SA Spurs, yathink?
