View Full Version : Can the Spurs ACTUALLY win against the Blazers?

Spurs should be 10-0 right now with 2 close losses(despite playing like SHIT in those games) to teams we should of won AT HOME:pctoss

Looking at this game I shouldn't be worried but seeing it's a back-to-back I only expect Duncan to show up. Seeing how we are 1-3 at home this being on the road doesn't make me feel any better about this

If someone besides Duncan wants to suck it up and show up for a back-to-back we should win this in a close one

Yes they can and they will.

Eh,

8-2 is pretty damn good, don't get greedy.

You win some, you lose some, no one goes 82-0. You win the amount of games you deserve.

how could we be 1-3 when we only have 2 total loses?

You are correct, TPark, the generous one.

The Spurs have two losses at home, five wins on the road with no losses and have played ten games. They need to do the math a little better.

Spurs can and should win against the Blazers. I believe that they will, but I am uneasy until it actually happens, because of our record on back to backs.

Tim Duncan looks to be clearly the best player in the NBA and that spells trouble for everybody else. A healthy Tim Duncan with our supporting cast means we are the prohibitive favorites to win it all this year. That's just the way things are. That's just the fact.

Nobody played too many minutes tonight, and if Pop distributes minutes tomorrow instead of leaving certin players in for 40+ (with the exception of Parker) we should win.

I know that we are spoiled as Spurs fans, but my goodness.

Two losses at home is disappointing, but it is offset with a perfect road record.

Exactly, isn't Memphis 1-7.

Dallas just passed the five hundred mark.

Depends on concentration, what I believe was the problem versus Charlotte. Portland IMO is the worst team in the league, but any team can gank any other. Need to be careful with Randolph. Otherwise, shouldn't be a big problem.

Is Brandon Roy the leader for ROY. It will be interested to see how well he plays.

TP and Manu will be utilizing that escort portland defense time and time again

Brandon Roy is still hurt, I believe.

I concur; a big Houston fightback followed by a turkey of a game tells us that the team can't rest on its laurels for a single night.

At 8-2, the Spurs are where they should be after winning a couple of games they should have lost (Phoenix & Houston) and losing a couple of games they should have won.

I believe they can.

I am optimistic even though I read how competitive and physical their game was with the Kings.

If we lost two games per 10, we would end with a 64-18 record, if I calculated correctly. Not bad by any means.

Agreed.

They CAN and SHOULD win, but it's by no means a certain thing. Portland is just like the Bobcats in many ways:

A solid, sometimes spectacular big (Okafor, Randolph)

A ROY candidate swingman (Morrison, Roy)

A solid, if unspectacular center (Brezec, Pryzbilla)

A decent young back-up big (May, Aldridge)

A shooting PG (Felton, Dixon)

I honestly think the Blazers are a bit deeper, though they're a bit younger.

The bottom line is that if the Spurs can lose to the 1-6 Bobcats, they can lose to anyone if they don't focus. I think they'll know what they have to do, go out there, perform, and win...but I wouldn't say it's a lock.

The Spurs will win no doubts about it.
The issue seems to be when the b2b game falls at home. On the road? No problem, seat back and enjoy!

The trailblazers can't beat the Spurs. The Spurs are the best team in the NBA and Tim Duncan is the best player in the world.

That's just the way things are.

We're going to win another championship this year. I can see it and almost taste it. It is palpable.

Last year let the glory out. It's our time. Tim is the man.
