Kevin Garnett meets Tracy McGrady meets Josh Smith.
KD will own Texas when it's all said and done with.

I am a little annoyed by how much his dick gets sucked by the media already, if i were another team fan I would hate him immediately.
I caught the Mich State game the other day and had to mute the game cuz all I kept hearing (besides how young and experienced texas was as a team) was how bad ass durant was. I hope he has a solid head to ignore all this hype.

Good point...he is a hell of a player....hopefully he can focus on his team rather than the hype....too bad he will only be in Austin for a year.

I'm still baffled by the McGrady/Garnett comparison. I certainly see aspects, but I think he's much closer to Eddie Griffin at Seton Hall, than Garnett.
KG plays with passion second only to Iverson in the League. Physically, I guess I see (though again, he's very, very similer to Griffin). I just don't see this same passion in Durant, nor do I see Garnett's skills.
If any here saw Griffin at Seton Hall, they know that my comparison is no slight. Kid was a monster capable of hitting handfuls of threes and notching handfuls of blocks to go with 20 points and double-digit boards every game. That's Durant. Not Garnett. Where McGrady factors in is in ball-handling, position (as in wing, rather than PF) and in attitude, because while I love ths kid's skills and think as highly of his potential as the UT slurpers here, I see the same McGradyesque attitude towards man-on-man defense and hustle.
Still, I do think that he's the gem of this class. Oden will probably be the best player longterm, but if you want the star, it'll be Durant. McGrady/Griffin = 20+ points, 7/8 rebounds, 3/4 assists, 2+ made threes, 2+ blocks and a steal per game. That's what I envision for Durant in the League.
