I do remember that clause, and I definitely think it's an open question. But everyone I asked about this said it probably wouldn't be an issue given that a) the team didn't save any money and b) everyone and their mothers believe that Pop and RC were genuine in their statements of Tim retiring, so it's not clear they were intentionally exploiting the stretch rule.

We have some promising young guys with somewhat overlapping skill sets and positions, and that circumstance is exacerbated by the presence of Dumbmar. But the sum of the individual parts does not equal a very good lineup. In our heyday we were almost the opposite. We had the big 3 and a bunch of role players with skill sets that were complementary.

No combo of scrubs is reaching the playoffs, so cut the crybabys and try to sell a bunch of lovable losers like bryn as the team goes through a hard tank. Basketball is in some ways , a reality show, people come for the highlights and story. Some people think the difference between the wnba and nba is talent (those people are the real gays). it is not, it's narrative. The nba is a higher prize because more people want it, and the cycle repeats. In an age where levron and KD dictate which teams can compete, you need a different way to sell tickets.
