Tim made 3 clutch free throws. TP played within the flow of the game. Manu was non existent, Mavs shot almost 70% in the first qtr , and the game was within reach. Great game but it's time to move on..

positives are that we lost a critical game and now we have to win the next 2 against the mavs for the advantage

Manu non-existant isn't postive.

What I mean't was it was a positive sign that we competed and he was no where to be found.. The Mvas played this game like they should have in the finals...

Oh Okay.

Oberto is coming along pretty nicely. I think all of SolidD's praise and ass kissing for Oberto starting when we first got him paid off.

Not only Oberto's play but I thought Vaughn played well while Parker was on the bench. Duncan is a given.

It's just hard to pick out positives when the Spurs lay an egg against a rival. A division one at that.

One game, one lose . Get over it. Next time we'll win.

The main positive, Spurs played very poorly for LONG stretches and yet still were in it til the end.

The main negative, Manu's injury. Hopefully it is minor!!

My take on the positives to this game:

Oberto was really excellent. He guarded Nowitzki for most of the game, and did as good a job on him as Dampier and Diop combined did on Duncan. If he had had someone out there during the start of the 4th to draw the defense, he probably could have contributed even more than he did.

Duncan really turned it on offensively, and made most of his free throws. Beyond that, on the few possessions that he guarded Nowitzki, he really showed off defensively. He didn't grab a ton of rebounds, but that last defensive play on Dirk was beautiful.

Other than that.... I guess the fact that they only played for three quarters and still only lost by three points is a positive.

Oberto did a good job, but can't be expected to guard Dirk an entire game. I don't know why they didn't throw Elson on him for a few more minutes.

Pop need to figure out why the Mavs have stormed out to big leads the last two times they've played in the ATT.

positives are that Manu was walking. He īs Ok

Just got back from the game. On the radio they were talking to an assistant coach who, when asked about Manu, said it was a lower back injury, but that the trainer had cleared him to keep playing. Pop chose not to risk it. That was perhaps a questionable decision on his part, but probably not even in the top five of questionable decisions he made this game. Some of his lineup decisions were beyond rational comprehension.

Most positive as usual is Tim Duncan.....the guy never quits competing.

I completely agree that, in general, expecting Oberto to guard Dirk for a whole game is absurd. But Elson's defense tonight was really bad. He seemed not to know what to do with himself. There were two possessions in a row in which Elson displayed an unfortunate inability to control the ball. Meanwhile, Oberto didn't show any sign of wearing out down the stretch, and managed to stay out of foul trouble.

I'd have a lot of other lineup questions I would ask Pop before the words, "And why didn't Elson guard Nowitzki more?" would come out of my mouth.

Elson is a flash in the pan. I can't wait to see his ass in a 7 game series. :rolleyes

making tough ass threes in a row helps.

Oberto was a positive. Vaughn's defense was.

Yeah no way you bring back Ginobili, in a game in November, let the guy rest.

A healthy one makes the difference in the 4th quarter though.

Duncan is playing his ass off....he just needs some help.

Only positive I take out of the game is Duncan's offense. And I guess the fact that Pop can walk after the hardcore ownage laid upon him by AJ.

yes....its good to see him healthy.
