hey if Indy wants a guy who doesn't play defense and disappears in the playoffs...do it! Is this straight up or are others involved?

This has been talked about for a long time.
Good trade for both sides. Sacramento needs a tough defensive player and Bird would love to have a shooting small forward with some size.
Artest for Peja....there's a newsflash. It's been on the burner since July. If they wanted to that, they would've by now. Right now Artest is too valuable for the Pacers, what with JO, Reggie and Jeff sitting out injuries.

Hey, pooh, the heat has been turned up @ssh0le.
Good to see some people here have stayed consistent.
I read a report today that this deal might be consummated finally.
I wouldn't unload Artest for Peja right now, that would be a dumb move on the Pacers front.

maybe right now pacers feel they need peja's scoring
and not as much d
seems to me they have no faith in stephen jackson if they do that today though

Peja is dying to get out. I haven't heard anything new about it -- what did you hear?

Jack would still play SG, so that's fine. Bird must really be sick of Ron.
If everyone gets healthy, it's going to be damn difficult to score on Artest/Christie at the swing spots.

I don't think I'd call Artest a playoff performer either. Down the clutch against Detroit he was jacking up all kinds of shit, he was IMO the reason they lost that series. The flagrant on Hamilton... etc.
That being said I don't think it makes either team better, but keeps them at a constant and just makes the players/gms happier. Should work out.

Do the Pacers need Peja's scoring, now that they have S. Jax? I'm not sure they do.

dude sjax isnt a god, Peja led the league last year, he has an awesome game and is the best SF in the league. Period.
Artest wasn't the reason the Pacers lost that series to the Pistons. Injuries and poor shooting it what hurt them. I think Reggie will be back, but if Jackson is playing up to what they think he can, then look for Reggie to come off the bench for the remainder of the season.

Artest has been killing it so far this season.
Conversely, Peja has been underwhelming. In fact, in the 3 Kings games I have seen, it looks like Bibby and Webber (his critic) both are icing him out of the offense.
It's a shame, Peja carried that team last year.

I have a question.
What's a Peja?

Peja obviously is hating life there. Anyone who tells him team to trade him to Toronto (for VC) obviously is having a bad time. I guess he knows if he went to Toronto then he wouldn't have to worry about choking in the playoffs.
Anyway, I think he'll end up getting traded this season -- probably not for Artest, but someone will snatch him up.

With Artest doing so well and VC winning games for Toronto, their stocks have never been higher this early on in a season.
