Dr. Pepper Big 12 Football Championship

Venue: Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City
Time: 7:00pm, Nationally Televised in HD on ABC
Spread: ??

Thoughts: Finally, the world is right - Nebraska and Oklahoma, for the first time ever, meet up in the Conference Championship game. How many of you ten years ago thought we would have to wait this long for this!? Oklahoma enters the game on fire with seven straight wins, despite losing AP to injury (who *may* be playing next week). Nebraska on the other hand swept the entire North Division and has tried its best to show the world that Old Nebraska is Back. What a better way to do it then against your long-time rivals, especially for our QB Zac Taylor (Hometown: Norman). Nebraska has also taken advantage of its two extra weeks to sell tickets, as rumors are over 60,000 tickets have already been sold to Nebraska zip codes.

Prediction: Nebraska wins it in a close game. I'll say 28-24. Nebraska advances to the Fiesta Bowl with the Big 12 BCS Bid.

GO BIG RED!!!!!!I am SO happy we don't have to play Texas again. It's appropriate that we'll be playing our long-time rival. While I was in college, it was the 'freeze your ass" off in the north stadium watching the game the day after Thanksgiving. A lot of tradition going into this one... The Orange Bowl used to be on the line as well ( when it had some significance)

Anyway- know of any Husker watch parties next weekend in San Antonio? It should be a good one, and hopefully we won't be subjected to that damn "Boomer Sooner" tune incessantly.

LoveMySpurs: Fatsos Sportsgarden is listed as the official watch site for the alumni, but unlike other cities, i've hardly ever found a big crowd there for Husker games.

Fatso's is kinda lame.
You might want to contact a place to host your party.
Champps has plenty of screens big & small.
BWW might also be considered.

This is going to be a great game. Two evenly matched teams with about as much history as anyone in college football. Oklahoma is a great team. If they would've got the call against oregon they'd be 11-1 and probably a top 10 team, even without AD. However, the Huskers are peaking at the right time, and this should basically be a home game for Nebraska. The sooner running game will grind out some yardage, but they will be forced to pass to score points. When this happens, the Nebraska front 7 will put constant pressure on P. Thompson forcing one bad decision after another. The Nebraska offense will set the pass up with the run, and Z. Taylor will show everyone why he is the Big12 offensive player of the year. Following the season, oklahoma will lose 2 people to the NFL. AD and Stoops.

Nebraska--31
Oklahoma--22

Damm that hurt. Fight On USC

Yeah... has about as much to do with this thread as interjecting a group of people who historically practiced pederasty.

And yes, you can go look that word up now.

What happened? Mookie, CBF, and Mr. Dio all told me that Texas would win the Big-12 without a problem?!

We all know the spurs are the only team without bandwagon fans............Any team that is winning gains fans, alot of people don't like sports enough to go and watch a bad product. That is why casual fans will tune in to watch Texas/USC/tOSU, it's some of the best of the best as opposed to watching baylor/ucla/temple

UT still only lost 1 game with a healthy quarterback and it was against the greatest team in the nation, so no fucking sweat. We fucking dismembered bukkakked and dickslapped the future big twelve champ WITH their black jesus (or if nebraska wins we at least scoffed the shit out of them at home in the cold) so all we gotta do is hope colt mccoy increases his calorie uptake by 33% and adds some muscle to his frame and we can come back next year with our Chiles and kick some more big twelve ass.

As much as it pains me to say it, Congratulations to Oklahoma. They played one hell of a game tonight.

For whatever reason, our offense was just not there tonight. Our defense played great, however. One of the key parts of the game to me was the 99 yard touchdown drive Oklahoma put together after almost being sacked for a safety, 3rd and 11 on the 1. During that drive, OU showed just how good of a football team they are and the talent they have.

Regardless of tonight, I'll still cheer on Nebraska in the Cotton Bowl and think we are getting to where we need to be...next year will be tough, with two BCS teams in September (Wake Forest and USC), and then Texas, Texas A&M, and OSU again from the South.

GO BIG RED!
