Well.... My crappy 17in monitor on my gaming rig finally wouldn't turn on anymore. I knew it would eventually give out, it was just temporary because I spent too much building the system and the 17in was laying around the house.

Now I'm staring at a fucking sweet Acer 22in Wide Screen monitor sitting at an easy 1680x1050 16:10 resolution.... Games look fucking sweet, great color on the monitor.

For those interested I think Circuit City still has them on special for $299.99

just felt like telling (bragging) to some people. :drunk

I have had the same 21" big ass monitor for the past 7-8 years. Damn thing is starting to get the diagonal lines.

What makes you assume that? The best gaming monitor ever made, the Sony Trinintron 24" CRT, came out in 1999 or so, and had a 16:10 aspect ratio.

Too bad Sony discontinued it due to the LCD craze. :(

No way... you have one? I'd trade you my height for one of those.

I'd like one of the Dell 30 inch flat panels or one of the Apple 30 inch flat panels. I have a 22inch Samsung that has way too much blacklight leakage but gets the job done as far as my poker plaing goes.

I had a 24" Samsung LCD, but I couldn't justify the $1000 it cost when my games looked way better on my CRT, so I took it back. I do miss the huge screen when it comes to writing code though.

I remember the 20" monitor. It would take up all the desk space, so you had to write on a clipboard.
