Most of our poker tourneys only have about 8-9 people anyhow, so whatever. If we don't hit at least 8 from here, I know a few people who I can invite, but I wanted to keep it to Spurstalk people. I'll provide food and drinks, you guys just bring your money.

Manny, we had a game last night with 10 of us. The usual $1-$2 blinds, $50 buy in with rebuys after you go broke.

My biggest hand was with KJ.

A Jh Jx 8h flopped. I bet $2, Brad to my left raised it to $6, and 3 people called. The turn was a Kh. I checked, Brad to my left bet $10, and 3 called including myself. The river was Qs. I checked, Brad bet 20, and Steve raised it to 40, I called and Brad called. Brad had J 10(trips), Steve had Ah, 9h for a flush and I had the Boat. That was awesome. :)


I won $345.00 for the night.

You should go its a free tournament but you get $5 for any one you take out and $100 if you take out Mcevoy or some other pro I've never heard of. Top 3 places pay as well 3rd gets $150 2nd gets $250 and 1st gets $500. You can either play Friday the 15 at 7 or Saturday the 16th at 6. Top 9 from each day make it to final tables on Sunday at 3:00 which might be pushing it for your home tournament but I bet you could still make it home by 7:00 if your lucky enough to make it to finals. If you are intrested let me know and I will send you the link.

This is a public tournament that is FREE to play and win.

About 50 people each session so over a 100. I just checked to make sure people can still register so there must still be room. I am not involved in any way with the tournament but I have attended the previous 2 they had which did not have any pro players in it. Supposedly you get $20 dollars for anyone that you get to register in it as well which I will believe it when I see it. I just though I would invite some people on here thought it sounds kind of fun. Oh and it will be recorded for televsion they are trying to get create a pilot to air on tv. The tournament itself is free but if you would like and you have money to blow you can spend $200-500 to practice and have lunch with Mcevoy as well as recieve other signed autograph junk. Does not seem worth it to me but its there. I am sure not going to pay that much but if your intrested its there. If you are intrested just reply and I will send you link it will give you all the details and if you know other people who may be intrested after you register send them link from were you registered so you can recieve 20 dollars if they actually do that. I am still skeptical about it though.

Its your choice. 1st come 1st seated type of thing they have had 4 or 5 tables so if you are 1 of first 50 you start at starting time other wise you can be an alterante and they fit you in as people get knocked out. Last time I went about 1hr early and there were about 15-20 people in front of me.

Oh and you start with the same amount of chips everyone else did if you are an alternate. So they don't short chip you but by the time you start playing you may be have one of the shorter stacks.


If it is same as last time you start of with $2000 in chips and I believe the blinds start at 10 and 20 go up every 20 minutes.

Even if you don't see the register/enter button when you are done filling everything out, just hit enter on your keyboard and it will go thru. The same thing happened to LJ. As long as you get your confirmation email, you are registered.

Thanks for checking on that. I wondered how they were going to get him to come if people dont sign up for the 1 on 1 training and lunch. Previously the tournament was suppose to be held in Eagle Pass at the casino and $200 was to buy in to tournament. Or you could pay 400 to ride the bus down there with Mcevoy. Like I said before I would not count on getting the refferal money. I know they did pay the players last time for 1st through 3rd.

The guy told me the end of January, but he didnt sound too sure, he said that only 4 people signed up for the class thing, so they were about 30,000 dollars short
