I like Sports Illustrated and Dwayne Wade... but this was a terrible TERRIBLE decision. Anyone who has followed sports in general knows that Roger Federer was the dominant athlete. What was SI thinking?

yup, it was without a doubt Federer is the one that deserved the title but Sports Illustrated is an American publication and like so it focuses almost exclusively on American athletes. I mean, I think it was SI that had Landon Donovan beat Ronaldinho for footballer of the year :lmao

I wanted the writers of that steroid about Bonds to get it, they made the most positive impact on sports this year. I'm cool with DWade getting it, Federer would have cool too.

It should have been Tiger.

Federer on the cover would sell about 4 copies...
Nobody gives a damn about tennis, or notices that Federer is probably the best ever...

Albert Pujols thinks the award should go to a player with hairy upper arms.

I can't argue with Wade being that. He looks and acts like a really good citizen and role model. I like him, great player and a great inspiration in this "thug" NBA type cliche.

I'd pick Kobe before Wade.
After he just got off of rape charges a few short years ago? SI is smarter than that, he has a ways to go before the American public forgets about that and he's considered for any good guy awards.
