Why didn't you post this way before 30 mins before game time?
veronicamae
12-04-2006, 07:35 PM
Because someone else had committed to buying them but then never got back in touch with me before I had to leave work.
Also, because I was at the gym from 5 - 6:30.
btw, didn't you question me last time I did this? this happens to me a lot because something will come up at the last minute and i can't go, so i have to give them away right before the game so they don't go to waste. if it's a bother to you, i guess i can just never give them away to anyone...

Honestly, I don't see the big deal with going to the game.
Unless you're in the 2nd row and have a great seats, just chill at home and watch it on TV and order in some good food. The last game I went to was Game7 vs. the Mavericks...which was a great game to be at. But regular season game against the Warriors? Eh.

Well, 18,797 people enjoy going to the games so you're pretty alone in your sentiments lol. Sometimes it's nice to get out and go to a game. Also, I think most people would disagree that it's only worth it if you have charter seats.

If the stadiums full, sure.
But still 18,000 is about 1.2% of 1.5 million...which is SA's population. So I wouldn't say I'm "pretty alone" in my sentiments. ;)

Being that the AT&T Center can only hold 18,797 people, it's impossible to say that more people would not go. How many people used to go to the games at the Alamodome that held what, twice that? ;)

That and not everyone can afford Spurs tickets. Last I heard, San Antonio was still one of the top US cities with the number people living below the poverty line.

The Alamodome didn't frequently sell out.
So let's say you're right, Alamodome had almost double at a little under 40,000. That's still 2.6% of 1.5 million. Which is our population.

I wouldn't go to a non-playoff game where I had to pay unless it was against a team I cared to see play. See: Lakers, Heat, Mavs, Detroit etc. The rest of the teams are not worth my time/effort/money...but I don't mind sitting on my couch and watching.

Well the reason I did it in the first place, is because it didn't sound true.
Living in this city after living in Chicago for 10 years, everythings very different. Much better that is. The lifestyle, the cost of living, the way people treat you and what not. Overall San Antonio seems like one of those nice city's old people go to retire to...
Not one that is 'near the top' as far as percentage of people below the poverty line. =/

According to this SA is the 28th in percent below the poverty level. But remember that San Antonio is the 7th most populous city in the US.
18.5 percent of San Antonio is many more people than, say, 20.6 percent of #18 Stockton, CA.

Yes, but percentage wise it is still 28th.
My original point was in regards to percent of our population that goes to a home game. But to humor you, let's take out that 28% from the running...that leaves 72% of 1.5 million which is still about 1.09 million people that are not below the poverty level that passed up on available tickets to a home game. That's still ALOT of people. So I wouldn't say I am "pretty alone" in my sentiment.

It's your style. Your style is obnoxious and rude. Just because I pointed it out to you doesn't mean that I'm the first one who thought of it. Look at ATX's style, much different than your obnoxious self. The girl who posted the thread thought you were rude far before I ever said anything.
Basically the deal is, she's looking to get rid of her tickets. If you don't want her tickets, then don't post in the thread. No reason to come in and try to convince people why they shouldn't want her tickets. And how the game is no big deal and no one should want to go.
See, your standards aren't everyone else's standards. Some people love to see games live and it doesn't matter if it's the Raptors and the last row in the balcony.

Minor typo, but that probably changed the way people read that post. =/ I was talking about certain home games in general, which includes the Warriors.
