If Barry keeps up his shooting..it would be nice to see him @ Vegas for 3-pt contest...then got to thinking he could be the first to be a slam-dunk and 3-pt champ. How does the NBA decide/pick the contestants? I remember Bowen being passed up a few year back when he was leading the league in 3-pt.

Getting a little ahead of things I know but it would be nice to get some representation by SAS in Feb.

3 pt Numbers are Great!!

He won't be invited, not a big enough name for the NBA

You're right. He's not the luminary that Walt Williams or Terry Mills were and Tim Legler was far better known when all he did was shoot 3-pointers.

:lol

Nice way to stretch and pull names out of a hat.

Names mean alot to the NBA nowadays, especially since the ASG is in Vegas this year.

I didn't think that people around here cared about the 3 pt contest...based on feedback from last year's at least... :lol

He was already in the 3pt contest a few years back. lost. so if he's invited again I'd be surprised

It's a real mystery/black box way of how NBA figures these things out. Any chance of Jame White making the dunk contest? I heard RC/Pop has hired a dunk-coach and White has been in training for Feb.

*shrugs* It's not like they didn't compete or something. That hat is called NBA history.

*shrugs* if you think Brent Barry is gonna get called ahead of the likes of Quentin Richardson, Michael Redd, and other NBA darlings, its not like you can comprehend that, or something. That hat is called current NBA reality.

No he's gonna win another dunk contest...

They probably will invite, who knows if he'll do it though, Andres Nocioni decided not to do it last year, claiming he isn't a real shooter, but from watching him shoot fot another full year, I'd give him the go. His 3 pointer is nasty.

They would call him if he was 10 years younger, probably.
But IMO, he deserves to compete in Las Vegas now.

If Barry keeps shooting 45-50% on three-pointers, he'll be invited. I don't get the 'Whoa is me' attitude in this thread.

I do think Bruce deserves an invite...he's annually among the league leaders in 3%.

And actually...I do think he is the type of shooter who could win it. I don't know if he's used to shooting that fast, but you know his conditioning will be there at the end, and that's usually what decides the winner among the best shooters.

It would certainly make up for the year they dissed Shane Heal.

San Antone always had one of the NBA's best 3-point shooters on their team, but who was the last one before Steve Kerr to actually be invited to compete? Chuck Person or Dale Ellis???
We'll never get the love we deserve from the industry and I have gotten used to that and I perfectly fine with that. The fans know what's up.
