Just a question that crossed my mind.
Does anyone here use a record player or turntables?
I still do but it's because I picked up on it young.

I love my turntable. Get a program that will record EPs onto your computer. I rarely buy CD´s anymore. You can just drive to Austin and get a bunch of records.

Record Connection on 90 and Military stocks old school LP's and 45s. Underground Sound on Vance Jackson? stocks the new house/techno stuff. I have my 2 Technics hooked up to the laptop for recording and to the home stereo for playback.

We have a turntable and several records but we don't use it much. Its not the best and the sound quality pisses me off. I need to pick up a new one.

Underground Sound closed shop a couple years ago I think.
You can check out 180grams on San Pedro for Vinyl and CD's too.
Cool place, www.180grams.com
I still think the sound of vinyl is much better than digital mp3 or cd's myself.
But that's just me.

8X Tapes are the Bomb...Are there are still plenty of Bobby Sherman, Karen Carpenter and Spinners tapes to be found....
I am not a fan of LP’s & was glad that the format went away....You spent a fortune on albums & they warped...It is a never ending battle to keep the stylus clean. The tone arm needs to be precision aligned...There was a turntable made by Lynn Sondek that costs thousands of dollars....For what? CD's @ 44.1 kHz are still a better product at a fraction of the price...

I can remember when scratching a record on a turntable was a bad thing.
