KENS-TV's handsome weekend sportscaster Bob Ballou proposed to stunning "Great Day SA" alumna and World Car TV spokeswoman Vanessa Macias Tuesday night and she accepted. It would be the first marriage for both.

Macias gushed over her "incredible" ring — in fact, it sounds a bit like Eva's — platinum with an emerald-cut diamond. The couple, who have been together for more than a year, are looking at a July or September wedding because those are lighter months for Ballou, who's been sportscasting here since 2004.

Macias said the proposal was romantic. He had put together a binder of the 10 amazing moments of their life together and had her go on a scavenger hunt to find memorabilia associated with those sentimental times.

She said Tony Parker actually knew of the proposal before she did. Ballou covered the Spurs game Monday, and approached Parker in the dressing room. He wished him congratulations on his engagement to Eva and said his proposal was happening the next night. Macias said Ballou then chided Parker, who proposed to Eva Longoria last week, for stealing his thunder.

Incidentally, Macias was looking forward to watching her appearance on "The Price is Right" Wednesday morning only to see the segment was pre-empted by the president's press conference.

So, I'll fill you in: She won a large-screen, high-definition TV.

However, the TV car commercial beauty blew the pricing on the bigger prize: a car.
