It should be a cool atmosphere with the octagon in the middle of a Marines hangar...
Odds:
Diego Sanchez –406
Joe Riggs +366
Josh Koscheck –289
Jeff Joslin +259
Karo Parisyan --396
Drew Fickett +356

The only underdog pick I really like is Jeff Joslin...I think he submits Koscheck...
Maybe Riggs as he could catch Diego with a good punch...
The big question...will there be any big announcements by Dana White?? Say....Crocop signed maybe? We can dream right?

This is a great line-up for a free card. I must say that I'm excited about all of the main card fights.
My picks on the main card are:
Diego vs Riggs (via sub)
Karo vs Fickett (dec)
Koscheck vs Joslin (via sub)
Shonie vs davis (via KO)
I see Dave Menne is still hangin around. I hope he's able to pull off a victory.

As unlikable as Diego is, I must agree with Mardigan. I don't see Diego losing until he starts fighting championship level competion like GSP, Hughes, or Penn. I do think Diego could probably beat Penn due to his incredible gas tank and BJ's lack there of. GSP and Hughes are a different story.
Diego would probably be much more popular if he would just kick ass and not ever, ever, ever talk.

The only thing cool about Diego is that he went and trained with Fedor for a couple weeks... :fro

Diego should have learned the russian art of silence when he trained with Fedor.

If Diego beats Diesel (which he most likely will) the next person he'll probably face is Penn, who should beat him. Well, maybe. Penn has always been his own worst enemy, and Diego has nothing but confidence. All in all, I don't care one way or the other as long as Joslin kicks Koscheck's ass into next week.

Fuckin' A right about that.
As far as Diego is concerned, I really like the guy. Especially after his last fight with Karo Parisyan. It turned out to be one of my favorite MMA fights ever. Like Rogan says, he is a "wacky character", but the guy has heart, skills, and is always prepared.
Riggs, on the other hand, I never could stand. He is a no class piece of shit who cuts a fuckload of weight to compete in a class in which he still hasn't been impressive.

I totally agree. Diego is one of the most entertaining fighters to watch because of his aggressiveness, passion, fearlessness, and all around skill. I will always watch him fight and I will usually cheer for him.
I just slap my forehead everytime he opens his mouth.

Definitely can't discount Diego's skills, cardio, heart, and confidence...he'll eventually lose to one of the big 3 though (Hughes, GSP, Penn)...

He's a solid member, not some troll...so who knows. Maybe we'll see Crocop at the fights tonight...

I am amazed how much Diego impresses and suprises me with every fight. I'd like to see him fight Penn more and more, and I like his chances against Penn more and more. The guy exceeds most people's expectations every time he gets in the octagon.

Parisyan/Fickett - I knew Karo was the better fighter going into the bout and he showed it. But I know anyone who fights Fickett is in for a war and you will get bloodied up against him. Fickett's iron chin, toughness, and heart impressed me. Karo definatley knows he was in a battle and may have a constant reminder of it with that nasty cut which will probably be a lasting scar.
Koscheck/Joslin - I fucken hate Koscheck. (just wanted to get that out of the way). Joslin definatley proved he has skills. He outmatched Koscheck in standup and Koscheck constantly responded by getting the takedown and crowding Joslin into the cage. Joslin had the triangle at one point, but the round ened. I rolled my eyes everytime Herb would stand them up and Koscheck would take him right back down, but he knew he would get the decision by doing that.
Carter/Davis - The weakest match of the night, but I am glad Shonie lost. Freakin' weirdo. Davis relied on his boxing skills and did a good job scoring points with his jab.
All in all, a great display of MMA on free TV. Also, I think its great that the UFC did it in front of the Marines, right there in San Diego and in Iraq.

All in all a good night of fights...
Diego impressed...he would be a huge test for Penn...he definitely better come in shape if that fight happens.
Koscheck is annoying, but you can't discount his wrestling ability...a couple of his takedowns were impressive (for takedowns anyway)...
Karo is good...it would've been a shame if the fight would've ended due to that cut.
I was hoping for an announcement about Crocop, or that we'd see Rampage on the front row or something though....

They're saving all that good stuff for the pay-per-view. Next week the rumors about a huge announcement on the 30th will surface.

He definatley has a strong future in the division.
Right now, I'd say he would beat Penn, and lose to Hughes and GSP. As he gets more and more experience and training in the future, we will only be more of a formidable force.
Whatever the case, Diego is now known to everyone as an exciting fighter, and that is worth it's weight in gold. Dana and Joe Silva now know that this guy is going to be a huge draw.

I really think that Diego could take Hughes based on his last performance, and Diego vs GSP would be absolutely ridicoulous
