Want to know the most important statistic in the NBA? It's not points, rebounds or assists, but each player's monetary amount on the league's salary report.

SI.com has obtained a copy of this year's report that was available to league and team officials, players and agents at the start of the season. The report includes salaries for this season through the 2011-12 season. The report also cites the options, if any, that are attached to each player's contract. And it also shows the salaries of players who are no longer with those teams (check out how much the Mavs are paying Michael Finley this season).

Go Spurs! Way to stay in the top ten like a heavyweight contender should. Sadly, folks, that's today's sports economics. You wanna play, you gotta pay. And being one of the league's smallest markets, I appreciate the sacking up. I guess Finley's salary is also accounted for...not sure, but still, nice to see that Spurs mgt. has the heart and stones to stay salary competitive.

This is all from Hoops Hype. 6 Blazers are making over 5 mil this year alone (Randolph @ 12 mil, LaFrentz @ 10 mil, Derek Anderson @ 10 mil, Magloire @ 8 mil, Miles @ 7 mil, Przybilla @ 5 mil). To compare, the Spurs have 4 guys making 5 mil this year (the Big 3 + Brent Barry)

BTW, The Knicks have 13 guys making over 5 mil this year!!! (4 of which are making 15 mil this year) :greedy :dizzy

That's not true, finley was cut because he woulndt count against the cap that way
