...Tim will average 20+ and 10+ this year? His stats are falling faster than a rocket heading back to earth. Of course if the Spurs keep playing like this his stats are a moot point but I just want to your takes.

His stats are down a bit in December, but at least part of that is due to less minutes as well. Of the 8 games so far this month, he's played less than 30 minutes in 4 of them. His stat line didn't look pretty tonight, but it was in 24 minutes. If he plays 35 minutes, he's up around 19 points and 13 boards, which is about what we expect.

Plus, it's really just his points & rebounds that are down (he's actually shooting a higher percentage from the field, a higher percentage from the line, his assists are up, and his turnovers are half what they were in november), and of those two, the only one that should raise an eyebrow is the rebounds (although certainly no need to panic over that yet).

In Tim's MVP season of 2002-03, he played 39.3 minutes per game. This year, he is playing 33.6 minutes per game. If you prorate Tim's 2002-03 stats back to 33.6 mpg, he did thusly:

19.9 ppg, 51.3% fg, 11.02 rpg, 3.3 apg, 2.5 bpg

Versus this season:

21.0 ppg, 56.6% fg, 10.20 rpg, 3.6 apg, 1.7 bpg

You can't pro-rate a %age, which is a relative number, not an absolute number.

He shoots more absolute shots, so he shoots at higher %age?

Yes, he will.

I know that; I am not an idiot. That is why I did not prorate shooting %.

Tim ruled in the playoffs last year, plantar footia and all.

If he can repeat that, i couldn't care less about his reg season falling below 20/10. In fact would rather see him drop to 33 min or even less for overall reg season minutes. Enter playoffs rested and healthy.

Stay healthy Tim, lets avenge last years disaster.

As long as the Spurs keep blowing out opponents, Tim, Tony and Manu won't see many nights where they play 30 or more.

Which in the long run, is a very good thing. That means they won't be worn out come palyoff time.

Let's just hope we continute to see a lot of nights of 25 - 30 point wins.

Hopefully fresh for June, too. If Tim is healthy and rested come May/June, and so Manu... watch out NBA
