He's slow and he can't get a damn defensive rebound. Everyone keeps jumping over him.

Maybe we can get CP3 for Butler?

Butler will come into his own in the next couple years. He's a young kid right now but let's give him time to develop under Timmy and the Spurs system. He's going to be a playa. Book it.

In fairness to Butler on those defensive rebounds, he had two Hornets all over his back both times and no call. Its garbage time but if thats the second quarter those are called.
You can tell he passes well for a big man and he moves well for a man as big as he is.
He still does not merit significant minutes.

Agreed, besides, the Spurs need a future center to hang their hat on. Especially if Mahinmi is going to be a PF.

Butler will come into his own when the Spurs strap a rocket to his ass.

He has 5 TURNOVERS!!!
That's an error on the stat sheet.
It has that he travelled five times in a span of 10 seconds in the play-by-play. :rollin

Butler has raw potential. Let's just hope he isn't the Spurs' Mbenga.

thank you for opening a thread on JButler AggieHoopsfan, I am really curious if there's some progress on his play since the start of the camp...
the man in the middle can really be the integral part of our quest for another title this yr esp now that Yao Ming just awaken from deep slumber this season

I see he had two rebounds in 4 minutes last night, that's not awful rebounding really.
PS has he ever show those oft advertised low post moves off in Garbage time, i didnt see any last night.

As hard as it is to believe, yes. I was a big fan of the signing this summer, but now I don't know. All I can say is I hope this is the process of stripping him down and building him back up, or else that contract will be expiring and he'll still be mired on the bench.

This guy is so raw that if he were a carrot he'd still be in the ground.

I wasn't too impressed by him at all..he looked slow and unwilling to get good position for boards....if he was being fouled and no called, i missed that, but he looked like a plodding slow big man to me.
