Larry offers own Answer
If the Knicks have any chance of landing Allen Iverson, old friend Larry Brown may have to sign off on it.
The former Knicks coach is acting as a consultant to the Philadelphia 76ers as the team entertains offers for its star guard, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported in today's editions.
Brown, who is close with Philly GM Billy King, had a rocky relationship with Iverson during much of his term as Sixers coach from 1997-2003.
Brown's agent, Joe Glass, confirmed to the Inquirer that his client - who was fired by the Knicks in June after after one season - was again working with the Sixers.
"He's a friend of the family," Glass said. "We're just happy to be in a situation where we're breathing fresh air after dealing with the rancid air (in New York) the last 14 months."
The Daily News reported last week that Knicks president/coach Isiah Thomas was interested in pursuing Iverson but that acquiring him would be a longshot.
