Count me as one who wants to trade for Maggette. The 2 people I want the Spurs to try and get are him and Jeff Foster. We NEED to get rid of Finley, Bonner, and E-Will. I thought E-Will would have gotten more time but apparently he's not what the Spurs want, and Bonner provides nothing else but maybe a 3 a game. Finley is self-explanatory. These are the people I'm okay with trading:
Finley
E-Will
Bonner
Vaughn
White
I'm pretty sure y'all had the same thoughts.
I'm not ready to give up on Horry.
If we can get those people, then we're probably gonna have to give up some picks. Maggette + Foster - those guys = Championship.

I'm not good at making trades but here is what I got:
Spurs Receive:
Corey Maggette
Jeff Foster
Clippers Receive:
Eric Williams
Michael Finley
Stephen Jackson
Pacers Receive:
Jacque Vaughn
Cuttino Mobley
Matt Bonner
2nd Pick from Spurs
2nd Pick from Clippers

I'd certainly be interested in Maggette, but I have an ethical problem trading Finley.
Maggette is a good rebounder at 6-6 so you could probably play him at 3 and move Bowen to 2, and have Manu come off the bench.

1) Spurs DON'T NEED to trade Finley, Bonner or Williams. Their contract aren't bad, Spurs can just keep them. However, Spurs will likely do a trade to go under the luxury tax at the trade dealine.
2) When you do virtual trades, you had to consider Spurs financial situation.
Maggette + Foster is a lot of money, you can't get them if you only trade expiring contract and Finley's small contract. Spurs must trade players with bigger contract like Barry if they want to stay under the luxury tax.
3) I like Maggette, but I don't like a lot Foster. He si often injured and isn't that good (great rebounder but average D and O).
4) Your trades should be a little realistic.
To me a good deal is :
Maggette + Korolev for Barry+Williams+Spurs 2007 first rounder + maybe Scola.

I've never understood the fascination with Maggette. He just isn't all that. He also isn't a kid anymore, turning 27 recently. He isn't tall enough to be the three we need, and isn't half as efficient as Ginobili. He'd have to come off the bench, and I think he wouldn't like that. He's also shooting .074 from downtown this year. That is not a typo.

To get Maggette the Spurs probably have to give up Barry, talent-wise and the keep the salaries somewhat equal. That shouldn't happen.

Well, Maggette rebounds well for his size.
Wouldn't happen, though.

before the spurs trade or even attempt to trade finley. they'll try to ship barry first. no matter how much finley is sucking right now.

when he tries. Usually he is pouting if he does not get all the shots.
It was incredible to see him playing team ball last year after Dumbleavy finally called him out for his selfish pouting. The Clips really blew it vs Phx last year.
I like Maggette a lot. But the Cippers don't like his defense. Could Pop make him a defender? Maybe.
Maggette is a free agent after this year and, from what I hear, the Clippers have no interest in resigning him (at least at what the market is sure to commmand). In other words, he's tradeable.
The Clippers are underacheiving and frustrated and, to some extent, looking to shake things up. In other words, it's a good time to trade with them.
However, the Spurs won't get Maggette for guys like Bonner, Finley or Williams.

I would think he wouldn't be happy playing as a bench player. Or am I wrong?

:reading At the rate things are going right now, I'd rather keep the team intact. :reading
