View Full Version : AI = No Vegas for TP and/or Manu

Assuming Kobe, TMac, Nash and AI are pretty much a given, it would be hard to see both TP and Manu in LV.

They weren't making it before AI came west. Now they really aren't making it.

Iverson in the Western Conference sounds surreal to me for some reason. Anyone else feel weird about it as well?

Maybe the West will finally win an ASG again.

Ummm....is this a joke? He was an All-Star in 2005 douchebag.

Good.

Ginobili and Parker don't need to go to such useless BS anyway.

Wish Duncan could skip it.

tp might go to it anyhow since it is in vegas he will just not play in it if the coaches do not pick him

I think he meant that Manu shouldn't be an all star for this year.

And, while he's picked up his play recently, I think Manu would agree he isn't an all star this year.

Parker might have had a tough time even before Iverson joined the Nuggets.

Assuming Kobe and T-Mac started at the guard positions, you would also have to consider Steve Nash pretty much a lock. Ray Allen would likely get some consideration, as well as Chris Paul and maybe even Kevin Martin.

With the overloaded talent at the forward spots, the extra two spots would likely go to forwards anyway. So, Parker would have to beat out Steve Nash or Ray Allen and Chris Paul to make it anyway. Not sure, if he would have. Now with Iverson, Ray Allen and Chris Paul might get squeezed themselves.

Parker might be there, but I don't know. Hopefully he is just on the roster.

I think Parker has out played Chirs Paul this season and hopes he gets picked by the coaches. Head to head battles dont mean much and team records also dont mean much, every season the spurs have close to the best record at the half season mark and get lucky to get two players in the game.

Fuck it Tony, piss all the posters in this forum off and go for dolo! Start jacking up shots from all over and get your PPG up to about 26ppg so you can ball out of control in Vegas!

chris paul played like a pussy when he played against the spurs
tp was cleary the better player
sure chris paul might put up better stats because he is the team right now
you switch the players around and tp puts better stats up
also did you see the thread about tp's outside shot
he is right up there with the the best of them as point guards

It's possible T-mac might be out with back spasms again by then. What's up with his back?...anyways if Gino keeps playing the way he's playing right now, I don't think he'll have trouble getting in.

But remember the AS is a popularity contest, not about skills.

Does AI get to carry the votes over from the East? If not, he very well may not make it either.

Personally, I would just as soon ALL the Spurs miss it. Why take a chance on getting a season ending injury in a popularity contest? And I just feel like these guys could not care less about how popular they are, as long as they keep winning.

Bringing home another trophy trumps any All Star voting.

"the AS is a popularity contest,"

only the first 5/starters, not the rest/bench who are selected by the coaches.

Right. Because players often get season ending injuries in all star games.

:rolleyes

Agreed that ASG is more fluff than anything else but you be surprise how much of an ego trip it is for players. TP said making AS was a goal of his....it certainly did wonders for his confidence!

What's up with all this hatred for the all-star game? I love seeing Tim Duncan in these games. He's always one of the top 2-3 players, and it's awesome to see a team of the greatest basketball players in the world still running their offense through him. All of you all who take it for granted are really going to miss it when you don't have a top-10 all-time player to cheer for.

Si...NBA and players alike. Extreme example: Dee Brown and his pumps. He got a pretty nice deal w/ Reebok after that.

Anybody know the answer to this question? I can't find any info about it. It doesn't seem like there's a fair way to handle the situation.

everybody knows Manu and TP are friggin awesome. I'm sure popo would rather have them rest and eat some home-cooked ham before starting the stretch run.

Let the 'superstars' have their moments of glory before making their pre-playoff stage exit.

Yep. Imagine how boring the all-star game is for the fans with no players from their team on the roster, and then appreciate how many guys we have in the running for it.
