I love the Rocky movies. But how appealing is seeing 60 year old Stallone fighting? Hmm..

Look at how bad ass Rocky is. SA210 and I haven't agreed on a single thing on this website, yet we both agree, Rocky is fucking cool.

Plus, in this one, Adrianne is dead, so we don't have to hear her complaining about Rocky fighting again like we did in Rocky 3, 4, and 5.

Well, actually the movie is more about his life after losing Adrian.
It's really good.

Nope, went to the Spurs game last night, won't get a chance tonight, but I'll definately see it tomorrow afternoon. I'm going to cut out of work early just to go. I'll be the weird guy that is at the movies by himself.

Where do you rank it on the Rocky Spectrum?

Mine goes

Rocky IV
Rocky I
Rocky III
Rocky II
Rocky V

Rocky I and Rocky II I love probably the same.
Then...

Rocky Balboa
Rocky IV
Rocky III
Rocky V

Keep in mind that I hate to rank em. I love every single one of them no matter what order.

But it's definitely among the Top 3.

There is only 5 mins of actuall boxing in the film, it is mostly about growing old and comign to terms with that.

Reviews have been pretty decent, some people were just surprised that it didn't suck as bad as they expected, and some people liked the story itself, even though he's sixty, as mentioned, the movie isn't really about boxing alone, and the actual boxing doesn't take up a lot of time in the movie...

It's a good story.

I actually loved the boxing parts too (which I didn't think I would because of his age). It takes up more than 5 minutes though (which is what ObiWan said).

Well I don't think we timed it but it wasn't the main part of the movie, I really enjoyed how they used actual commentators, and how it was on HBO, etc...

Did you enjoy your D_ _K _ _ A P_P_O_N B_X?

Damn TimVP is too fucking lazy, I mean it's so easy to do:

Step Two: Put your junk in that box
Step Three: Open the box....

I always loved the Rocky movie music, nothing better to get you pumped up....

Apocalypto....

:devil

Don't get popcorn with it :vomit: Seriously, at least three people who had gagged aloud within the first 10 minutes of the movie.

Still, it's a very solid flick. I can't say it's good or bad, but I definately enjoyed it.

How can Rocky IV not be everyone's favorite? Fuck, the Russians still owe us reperations for killing Apollo Creed.

Are we going by quality or mere entertainment factor? I laughed more during Rocky IV than any other, but overall, the original was the best of the lot. Great, great film all around.

I haven't decided whether I want to spend $$ on that yet. If I keep hearing good reviews, I might go.

The problem is that it strikes me as one of those movies that, based on the previews, you already can predict every cliched plot detail and heavy-handed emotional manipulation. And Matthew McConahahahgy seems waay too insufferably earnest.
