View Full Version : KMart forgotten in Denver...can we get him for cheap?

This is just a random thought but would KMart help our situation? He is out with his second microfracture surgery but when he comes back I'm not sure Denver will need him and we could just pry him away with some draft picks and filler + shooters like Barry or Beno. What do you guys think?

Ironically, there's nothing cheap about KMart.

Kori Ellis

He makes $12M. So you need more than Beno (who makes a million) plus picks.

First Tim Thomas then Kenyon Martin. :spin
What's next : Jerome James ? Darius Miles ?

Kmart cant be had for "cheap" because he makes to much and it would take more than fillers and draft picks. And like Manny said, why do we need him?

Please no KMart. He is a disease.

but, WHY?

Isn't it obvious? We can't win the title without a pair of overall #1 picks on the roster.

Considering the fact that he's damaged goods and is a cancer both on the court and in the lockeroom, why would we even want to?

k mart has two bad knees, is a cancer and is as overpaid as Nene.

Absolutely no reason to bring that clown in.

Nope, not worth it unless he'd come for cheap when his contract is up.

Doesn't he still have something like 3yrs on $23M a year left on his contract?

Why? Dude is damaged goods. No thanks.

Why the fuck would you have that guy in our team? He's a born looser.

Steve-O-Matic

ESPN's Chris Sheridan rated Martin as the 3rd most untradable player/contract in the league (behind Chris Webber and Erick Dampier). The specific comment was...

"Out for the year with a bum knee, he's due $60 million over the next four years."

isnt he out for the season anyway. if i were the spurs id trade for kmart if you could get barry or finley for him

Yet another reason this trade proposal makes no sense.

Tpark......its way too early to say Nene is overpaid. Give the guy a season to see how he bounces back after recovering from surgery late last year

His last game he got 12/14/4 blocks......and the game b4 that he had 8pts/15 rebounds/2 blocks and 2 steals

The coaching staff made him rest the last couple of games becuase he has been overplayed. GK only wanted him getting 20mpg for now but he has had to play alot more with camby out.

He is oozing with potential and you know thats what alot of big men get paid on in todays league.

Nene... That's a huge amount of optimism, NuggetsFan, for a guy who plays less than a third of a season. Nene is hugely injury prone and extremely expensive.

a third of the season? :lol

He played 80 games in his 1st season, 77 in his 2nd, 55 in his 3rd and missed all last season (thanks to timmy) :smokin . So only one season has he played less than a 3rd of the season.

He looks good this season but the coaching staff is being extremely precautious because he is a long term project. I have no doubt he could be a 20/10 player in the next season or two.

His main issue is that he has to continue getting back into game shape.

Alot of his contract is based on incentives, so its not like he straight out gets $10mil a season, its probably more around $8mil or so

Nene probably isn't any worse than Eddy Curry. Actually, he's much better on the glass and has quick hands defensively.

Kenyon Martin in San Antonio?? :smchode: No thanks. I don't care how good he is or how many years he has left.

I can't tolerate watching KMart on an opposing team, so I can't even imagine having to look at him as a Spur. He can take his chest-beating, grand-standing bad attitude somewhere else.

Wow. Sheridan's opinion of Eric Dampier isn't very high considering he's putting him into a category with two players that basically cannot walk without pain. As far as I can recall, Dampier has never had microfacture surgery.

Martin's performances against the Spurs as a Net in the '03 finals tells me all I need to know about him.

Pass. Even if he was making the MLE.
