Ducks would never have time to post again if he fixed all of his spelling errors.

well he got 11 rebounds (7 offensive)....spurs don't need him to shoot well.. they have other guys who can score...

Are you insane? They don't need Bonner to be a big offensive force. If he can come in and get boards the way he did today, then it doesn't really matter what he shoots.

Against a .310 team that's fine. Bonner will need to shoot well against any team that's better. You guys forget just how bad the Hawks are. Expecting Matt Bonner to be Reggie Evans is just silly.

bonner's hustle is invaluable. i would like to see him and manu playing a lot of mins together. they'd be all over the court.

Bonner forced up a couple of bad shots today but he's been on fire lately. He shot over 50% from the field and from three in December.

If he can shoot 45% from the field and 40% from beyond the arc, plus get rebounds and play with energy ... it'd be hard not to give him 15-20 minutes a game with the way the other bigmen have been playing.

Its hard to justify giving Oberto minutes ahead of Bonner, and not giving literally ALL of Oberto's minutes to Bonner.

Pop said before the game that Bonner had a green light to shoot, so figure he wants Bonner to score.

I can't help but think Pop is really missing the chance to work Butler into the team. He already knows what Horry is going to do, which is nothing until playoff time.

Why work him into the team when he isn't going to play till next year.

How many times does this have to be said?!?!?

bonner sucks.

Yup, just like Stephen Jackson, just like Manu Ginobili, just like SPeedy Claxton....

Then:

Matt Bonner is just a scrub. He will not do anything for the Spurs.

Bowen is more of a threat to score than Bonner.

Fact is, Bonner sucks ass

Its hard to justify giving Oberto minutes ahead of Bonner, and not giving literally ALL of Oberto's minutes to Bonner.

Bonner seldom defends the 5s. Oberto does a pretty solid job on help defense and taking the biggest guy on the floor. Oberto gave Tim major minutes of rest today while the lead went from 6 up to 12 with Oberto at the 5 playing more than half of that 3rd quarter. He did the same against Utah.

Fabri surprisingly had 2 blocks in 2 seconds following a Hawks steal and that was after Oberto reversed himself at half-court and hustled back into the play. He's not supposed to be a scorer. IR material? The Spurs need him too much right now for that to happen.

solid, I understand you like Oberto, but the guy is too slow, too unathletic to play everyday.

FACT.

Bonner is alot more active, alot more more of a threat offensive wise, and seems to rotate pretty decently right now.

He also darn near tripled Oberto in rebounds today.

Oberto is probably the only true center on the Spurs roster outside of Butler. Elson and Duncan are more power forwards than centers.

Oberto will have a role with this team and he remains a very important part. Duncan, Horry and Oberto are the only players on this team that can guard a player on the low block one-on-one. And at times, Oberto has been the best of the three at doing just that.

T Park

IF were that reliant on Oberto, lets just fast forward to this summer then.

Bonner seems to be more of a replacement for Horry than Oberto/Elson/Duncan.

He wasn't brought in to bang around the middle. He's there to drag the big guy defending him way out to the 3-point line and give Tim/Tony/Manu space inside.

Whoever said he wasn't brought in for scoring is technically true. But part of his appeal is his ability to shoot and spread the floor. So they do want him to take shots.

But he's not supposed to replace Fabs.

oberto is an offensive threat -- when left open (happens often when playing with manu or tim). as manu gets back into the mix (getting minutes with oberto), his addition to the chemistry will be revealed.

Well as long as I see him viciously ripping the ball out of someone's hands like he did yesterday, I'm all for him. Good to see some A+ effort on those rebounds from anyone.

Bonner is slow and unathletic too. Just because he had a big rebounding day doesn't mean he's going to knock Oberto out of the rotation. Bonner should get some of Horry's regular season minutes, but not really effect Oberto that much. Oberto is a better defender. Oberto had an 11 rebound game this year too -- against Dallas. Don't expect it to be the norm from either of them.

well yeah it seems that bonner is unathletic, but you shoulda seen him in a high school dunk contest. i saw clips from one and it was pretty crazy. haha.by the way good job Bonner, hope this type of play can stay consistent
