my original pre-season prediction was Philly over Baltimore, but i dont think the Eagles can beat Baltimore without Donovan McNabb.

You mentioned the two in the same sentence, and said they'd both fail in the same manner, to the casual observer, that would seem like a comparison.

Saints over Chargers! (probably other way around, but the Saints are my BOYS!)
TheSanityAnnex
01-03-2007, 02:26 AM
and in week 7 the Chiefs beat the Chargers. So what.
In week seven the Chargers had 2 costly turnovers in the first quarter that cost them 14 points. They rallied back from 21 down and still almost won the game in Arrowhead. The Chiefs have no chance of beating the Chargers in San Diego.
And the Chargers didn't lose a single game after that.

:lmao at those who actually think that the Ravens will even get to and win the Super Bowl. Peyton may choke in the playoffs, but it will come against SD, not Baltimore. I'd like the Ravens chances more if McNair and Jamal Lewis were not reaching over the hill status.
Sanity's on the money with the Bears and Chargers.
TheSanityAnnex

Let's take a brief look at some of the Ravens oh so impressive wins....
The Ravens struggled with the Browns twice, the Bills, the Titans and the Bengals. Three wins - one over the Browns, one over the Titans, and one over the Chargers - were gifts handed to them by the other team, pure luck.
The Ravens lost to the Donkeys.
The Ravens lost to the Carolina Panthers - a team the Steelers wiped out.:lol
The Ravens managed seven points and found a way to lose to the Bungles.
Baltimore was lucky far more than good. The old geezers - McNair, Rayray, Ogden, Rolle, Lewis, and Mason all will have to stay healthy for this team to have a shot. That, and an insane amount of luck. In other words, its not gonna happen.

You can do the same thing with every team in the playoffs and it means absolutely nothing. I've had enough SOS and margin of victory talk in the CFB Forum.
I like Baltimore for one reason: the experience McNair has over Rivers, who has been inconsistent down the stretch.
Rivers has been great this year but even you have to admit, Sanity, no one has any idea how he is going to perform under the hot lights of the big stage.

All I can go off of are his college days when he was in Bowl games. Pretty impressive stats in every single big game he played. But you are right, I've got nothing NFL wise to go off.
As an aside, did Rivers just break the record for a first years starters wins?

Isn't that list erroeous? I thought they the lower seeded team will always play the highest seeded team. Therefore, if the Giants were to win, they would play @ Chicago... am I not correct in this?
I don't know if anyone even picked NYG to win, but saying "winner of NYG/PHI@ #2 New Orleans" isn't correct.
I do see where P<S picked the Chefs to win @ Balt. The Chefs wouldn't play @ Balt, they would play @ SD, which wouldn't effect his outcome because he picked them to win that anyway.

But he's still been able to find a way to win and has come up with some huge plays late in the game. His situation is so similar to Rothlisberger its eerie. All Rivers has to do is not fuck up.

Hey, it's easy to pick a 1 seed with homefield and say they're gonna win. They're expected to at least get there but no ones talking about NE even though they've won it 3 times in the past 5 years. I honestly think your sandy eggo chargers should win it all with the team they have but i think NE deserves some consideration or at least more consideration then the Colts. :lol

And San Diego doesn't have a defense? Hmmm............they lead the league in sacks, have a tough nosed run D, and a secondary that is playing better than ever. Remember, you also have to score to win a ball game. Oh yeah, the Chargers have the #1 scoring D.
I still don't get why everyone is on Baltimore's dick. They are average.

i change my pick. COWBOYS ALL THE WAY!
Colts over Saints in SB XLI by a Vinatieri field goal in OT.
Everyone is doubting the Colts because of the bad rush defense, but 3 of the 4 losses have been close (TEN&HOU by a FG, DAL by a TD). Chiefs will be a good test to see if the defense can step up. Honestly, I think they are under the radar and can go far if they execute well. I know they're not the runaway pick they were at midseason, but Chiefs got a huge break to make the postseason and they're an inconsistent team. It'll be interesting to see if Bob Sanders coming back improves the defense any. He's a playmaker, so I expect some improvement, not total defensive domination...just improvement.
As for the bracket
AFC:
3 Indianapolis vs 6 Kansas City (30-21 Colts)
