Read on another site that TJ Connally predicted the Saints will announce they are coming to San Antonio by the end of Junuary 2007.

I thought that was no longer a possibility? Wouldn't they go to LA first?

That doesn't make any sense, they just pumped millions into the dome, and screw LA, they have already had 2 teams!!!

I welcome them to SA with open arms :hungry:

I seriously seriously seriously doubt it would happen.
It would be cool to have Drew Brees and the 5th place Offensive ROY in town.

I'll take that bet.

I concur, not here in SA at least.

Still can't believe how untapped & underrated the SA/Austin/South Texas market is.
Does anyone in the NFL hdqtrs know how many Dallas season ticket holders are in SA? I know of a few. Austin with its fans AND corp. sponsors are 1 hr away. The Valley, Corpus & South Texas in general have countless hundreds or thousands of valid potential season ticket holders and prob a few more corp sponsors. Throw in the SA to Austin corridor. Throw in the countless # of rural communties within 90 min of SA.
Geez, talk about untapped. I'd have to say that the SA-Austin-So Texas area is the 2nd most untapped area right behind Rosie O'Donnell.

No one south of San Antonio would be able to make a valid financial impact for a NFL team..

How many CC people or Valley people drive to SA to see the Surs regularly?

Not too many.

Why?

Becauase they can not afford it.

If the Saints come to SA or any other NFL team for that matter, they will have to be supported by San Antonio and Austin.

Northern SA has money and Austin have money.

That is the market they need to target.

:lol

I guess around holy week all those Spanish speaking shoppers in North Star Mall are from Austin & North SA? :lol

Yeah, I'd have to say ZERO $$$ is in South Texas. :rolleyes

Monterrey to S.A. is an awfully long drive to make 8 Sundays a year, especially with the lines at the border.

Fan support and attendance for the games would not be a problem. Corporate sponsors would def. be a tougher task for this area since alot of the sponsors we have are national names who already have money vested in houston or dallas.

Have you ever seen how much Cowboy gear is worn by people south of SA?

When the Boys beat Indy the 2 vehs next to us in the Red lot were from Laredo & NL. Neither one, NEITHER of them looked like you'd see them in Alamo Heights in the next few yrs. The cars were new, could've been rentals, BUT, BUT!, they made the trip TO DALLAS & they DROVE in seperate parties.

Yeah, I wonder though, how large an impact is WaMu supposed to be? Have they bought any naming rights to any place/arena/dome?
I'd read that IF Microsoft did open that center in NW SA it'd only have apprx 100 people.
Valero?
