Duncan plays less center when Elson is healthy, and plays at the PF spot (you know, the one that Bonner plays) with Elson or Oberto next to him, and at times Horry.

Bonner is the fifth big.
And guess what? Bonner was in tonight before Oberto and Horry...so doesn't that make him the 3rd big by your logic?

What the hell is wrong with the Spurs?! They have no passion, no heart and no sense of urgency. This screwing around for 3 quarters and then trying to win it in the 4th is getting reeeeeaaaaallllllllyyyyy old. They let themselves get down 17 and then think they can just turn it on whenever. I hate to say it, but this team reminds me of the Lakers after they won their 3rd championship. Remember how they would screw around and then think they could flip the switch whenever they wanted - didn't work for them and it won't work for us! What does Pop have to do to motivate this team?

If I were Pop, I would work these guys butts off - no mercy. Running drills, shooting drills until they can't lift their arms and then make them shoot till they make 50 freethrows in a row! They needed to be treated like rookies!

How do you not foul when they get the ball back with 11 seconds to go?!?! And guess how they got the ball back .... SMALL BALL. Forces Finley to grab a rebound and he's the worst rebounder on the team. How the hell do you go to small ball when you need a stop and a board? Especially when the person who is killing you is Blount. Got damn.

And not fouling, that was the laziest thing I've seen. Duncan just looked at Garnett. It took Bowen like five seconds to start running after him. And Finley not only didn't get the rebound he didn't foul Hassell or chase after anyone.

Look, they're not playing very well right now. But there is no reason for the Spurs, or Pop, or certainly the fans, to get mad or throw some sort of feminine hissy fit. If anyone remembers the 3 championship teams (you know, the 3 championships the Mavericks didn’t win), we would remember that those teams, too, went through some issues, at times, defending, scoring, rebounding, and what not. In the end, they won it all.

And even the seasons when they didn't, they were more than competitive, always a threat to win it. Shoot, the Spurs were .04 away from winning it in '04, and some bad luck and a very good Mavs team away from getting it last year.

We have a darn good team and should be proud to root for them. How many other teams’ fans can say that their team is in the running year after year? Maybe 5 or 6.

And I really don't buy any of this nonsense about the Spurs not playing hard. They are consummate pros who always play hard, and they win or lose as pros. Tonight, they lost like pros, albeit with a brain fart at the end.

Manu and Tim almost always play their heart out every night. They may not always play well, but they always play hard. Same goes for Tony, Bruce, pretty much everyone on the team. The ones who don't play hard end up playing for Miami and getting suspended or something.
