I think that right now the Mavericks are playing better than the Spurs. DUH that's no secret. I am worried about the Spurs but I'm glad they're struggling now and not in two months(although who knows?). This Mavs-Spurs game is gonna be a lot of fun but it will just serve as another look of what awaits in the real deal, which is the WCFinals or Semis. Mavericks fans have the right to claim they're the better team because right now they are, they have the right to claim they're gonna beat us again because they've done it before. But they don't have any right to underestimate the Spurs because we have owned them before and had it not been for one Manu foul maybe we still would. And the championships talk stands because we have three and they've been recent, it hasn't been a decade like some guy tried to make the analogy with the Cowboys, who have five. Another thing is that not only do the Mavs have no championships but they BLEW a sure championship last year. I have not seen that kind of meltdown in a bigger stage before in the NBA.
This is all recent stuff so Mavs you can talk with us right now that you might be better than us but don't come around underestimating the Spurs or telling us that the Mavericks being superior is just a FACT because that is just wishful thinking. Come May both these teams will be different, they will have gone different processes, and who knows? maybe someone on your team will have to live with what Manu lived with after his 3-point play on Dirk. I'm not gonna discuss refs here because it doesn't matter anymore, but I truly hope that one does not greatly influence the outcome of any of those playoff games. Sweeping the Spurs? please 5 games? come on, show a little more respect for the team that's been there before and that has beaten you more times that you've beaten them. The Mavs took a huge step by beating the big brother Spurs last year, but don't think it's definite, the big brother Spurs are still there with their core intact.

The Spurs should win by a large margin. If they squeak out a victory, the Spurs fans here should be concerned, and, if the Mavs win, it would be a signal for serious problems in SA. Pop certainly loves to peak near the playoffs, but I believe that he will be pushing hard for a victory on Friday.

If Dallas is ever fortunate enough to win a title you will see what I mean. Spurs right now have an opportunity to put themselves in elite status with one more title, right behind the Celts, Lakers, and Bulls.

you know why that's not the same? celtics fans cant talk crap because even though they won a gazillion championships, that was centuries ago; the Spurs championships are as recent as 2003 and 2005. The Spurs have the same core of players who have won championships, do any teams out there have a core that has won a championship out there aside from the Detroit Pistons, the Miami Heat, the Spurs, and even the Lakers?

The Mavs have the same core that took them past the Spurs, but that was not easy. Was it? You must acknowledge that your victory wasn't resounding as you think it was.

When the Spurs finally got over the hump against the Lakers in 2003 they got lucky on the Horry shot that came out, but they erased any doubt of them being the better team by waxing their asses in Los Angeles in game 6. But what happened the next year? The Lakers came back and beat them, even with that 0.4 miracle shit, they beat the Spurs.

...Think about it. Winning a championship means the world... beating your arch-rival means a lot too but its no championship.

Unlike some Mavs fans, who have nothing better to do than to praise about how they beat the Spurs, what about losing to the Heat in the biggest choke of finals history?

Congrats to the Mavs, regular season champions. Stop talking so much and realize what happened in the past. Oh, you can go "get over the past, Spurs", but many Mavs fans talk about how they beat the Spurs and they love that so much... which happened in the past. Why do you gloat about beating the Spurs so bad? I know, because it makes you feel so much better about getting annihilated by the Heat. I tipped my hat to the Mavs, they won, but Mavs fans keep talking shit about us so that makes us not want to support the team.

Championships define greatness, not a record. The Heat were great in the finals, lackluster in the regular season. They played so good because they were out for blood after the victory parade was announced after the first two games.
