Here is the biggest question for the Spurs/Mavs matchup on Friday night.
will Pop have the mental toughness to get the Spurs (all of them all at the same time) to match th Mavs' intensity on defense throughout the entire game on Friday? Avery has his guys psyched and playing to their full potential almost every time they play the spurs. Pop has trouble getting the guys to play hard and well for 24 minutes, much less 48.
I know it's only January and all that, but it is high time for the Spurs to make a "statement" game of their own this year. Waiting until the playoffs doesn't work because the work ethic has not been ingrained if they wait until then.
This is Pop's responsibilty. He is too soft on the team because "the real season doesn't start until April". Sorry, Pop, but if that is athe case, those of us who are season ticket holders are really getting ripped off!!
